Get the gang together for a trip to Northumberland. This property would be perfect for a small family and their dog, and the neighbouring cottages on the holiday complex can be booked in tandem for a trip with a larger group. You’ll be in a great spot to explore the coast and learn about the local history with the Scottish border.

The ground floor is divided into two rooms. Firstly, there’s a family bathroom with a shower, bath and WC, and then there’s an open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner, perfect for socialising. The lounge is comfortable and has a flame-effect electric fire for cosiness, then the kitchen has pops of colour to contrast with the dining area. You’ll have everything you could need for a relaxing evening of food and quality time as your dog curls up in their bed. Continue upstairs to see the two bedrooms. There’s a twin room with a sloped ceiling, skylight and wooden finishes, and a double bedroom to match. The property has a private patio, which is enclosed by a wooden fence and supplied with garden furniture, and you can use the shared grounds, including a play paddock for the children.

This area of Northumberland has many fascinating and beautiful spots, but Holy Island takes the cake – or the bone! Located 11 miles away, this incredible place has inspired generations of artists because of its unusual features. You can walk there from the mainland across sand flats, but make sure you check the tide timings because when the tide comes in, it becomes a true island. There is a ferry which goes regularly. You’ll also be close to Tweedmouth (1.5 miles) and Berwick-upon-Tweed (2.5 miles), which have shops and dog-friendly eateries, plus beaches where Fido can splash around.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. It was absolutely gorgeous, cosy and welcoming with everything you would need for a relaxing break. The cottage its self was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and full of little touches that made us feel right at home. Lovely peaceful location not far from the scenic Cocklawburn beachRead more and short drive to Berwick town centre. Fantastic location to visit Holy Island, Bamburgh and Alnwick and more. A truly beautiful place and we would definitely recommend. Hide

We had a great week . The location is very good with 5 minutes drive to beaches or into Berwick itself . Private parking was useful . It is close to the main A1 so there is some noise but with windows closed it was fine . Enough seating for 4 . The paddock area was useful for our grandson to kick a ball around in an enclosed environment.

After choosing the cottage we found it suited our purpose perfectly as the location was within the area we wanted . It was close to the sea but far enough away from the major towns to offer a more rural location. The condition of the cottage was very nice was in a fantastic condition.

Lovely cottage in a good location but there were a number of maintenance/cleanliness issues we needed to report. Unfortunately we were unable to contact the property manager so the matter was dealt with by the holiday company we booked through. It was disappointing that standards had been allowed to slip at an otherwise very nice property.

Overall we enjoyed our stay . The cottage was in a good location for getting out and about. It was clean on arrival .There was a few issues within the cottage that if we had been able to get hold of someone to report them to and get them fixed the holiday would have been perfect .

The cottage was excellently equipped and wonderfully clean. The proximity of the beach was amazing and it was relatively quiet. We were a little shocked as to how near the main road we were but it did not spoil our stay.
