  • A traditional stone cottage with original features and a cosy wood burner
  • Historic charm blends with modern conveniences including underfloor heating and a handy utility room
  • Children will love their own dedicated ‘Smugglers Cove’ den
Property code: OC-89568

This character-packed cottage can be found tucked amongst the cobbled streets of Robin Hood’s Bay, providing a sanctuary for six humans and two pups. Set Fido’s nose to the ground and sniff out this enchanting fishing village, enjoying cliff-top walks, beachside scrambles and all the tasty local fare you can eat. When your paws grow weary, light the wood burner and let sleeping dogs lie whilst you warm your cockles.

The lounge is quirky and comfortable with a wood burner at its core, providing a gentle ambience for watching films and sharing snacks. Your furry pals will love the underfloor. A charming lighthouse light sits in front of an exposed brick wall, and the children will have a ball playing in their very own ‘smugglers’ cove' den. There’s a stylish kitchen/diner finished in nautical hues for fabulous feasts, and the stairs lead up to the first floor with its double and bunk bedrooms, one of which has a useful en-suite shower room. A further set of stairs wind up to the top floor, revealing another delightful bedroom. Completing the property is a bathroom on the first floor. There isn’t a dedicated outdoor area, but there is a bench immediately to the front that’s great for perching and watching the world go by.

Robin Hood’s Bay isn’t just dog-friendly, it is a canine paradise thanks to the array of walking opportunities and welcoming eateries that embrace waggy-tailed visitors with gusto. The beach has endless potential for ball games, plus you’ll have The Cleveland Way and the Coast to Coast trails to investigate too. Following the disused railway of the Cinder Trail to Whitby (a 5.5 mile walk) is a wonderful way to soak up the views, rewarding your efforts with fish and chips on the seafront.

The cottage was absolutely lovely, really comfortable and in a great location. We really appreciated all the thoughtful touches - great selection of childrens books and games in a great snug area; kitchen with all appliances and utensils we could need, and bowls, toy and treats for dogs. All contributed to a really enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed our stay in this characterful cottage. It was cosy and had everything we needed. Its right in the heart of the village, so a busy spot, but very convenient for shops, cafes, and beach.

Lovely, comfortable cottage which has been lovingly restored and is in a great location - close to interesting shops, good places to eat and within easy walking distance of the bay. We managed to buy a permit for the Old School House car park, which is far more convenient than the one at the top of the hill.
