As well as six guests, two dogs can join you at this fabulous period property. Set in a rural location, it’s the ideal retreat for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and leave feeling completely refreshed. Surrounded by a beautiful lawned garden, and near a wide variety of countryside and coastal walks, the dogs will be in their element with so many new sniffs to explore!

Accessed via a set of steps, the spacious stone cottage boasts a homely dual-aspect lounge with comfy sofas to sink into after a long walk. Fire up the wood burner on a chilly evening and snuggle up, with the hounds at your feet, with a good book and a cuppa. The piece de resistance for the four-legged ones has to be the garden; it envelops the house and offers ample space for them to run off steam. The kitchen looks out over this impressive space, so you can keep an eye on the dogs whilst rustling up a tasty meal. On a warm evening, join the canine chums outside on the delightful terraced patio whilst the kids play in the garden.

There are some great walks in the area. The River Yar Trail passes through Godshill and you can follow it through fens and marshes, all brimming with wildlife, for 5 miles to Niton. St Catherine’s Down and Knowles Farm National Trust (5 miles away) throws up exhilarating and rugged terrain at the island’s most southerly point, and you can also see the only surviving onshore lighthouse. Godshill Model Village makes a great family excursion. It’s set in 2 acres of landscaped gardens so you can take the dogs on a lovely walk after enjoying the miniature magic of the village.

The cottage was beautifully clean, well equipped and very cosy. Its a glorious location and the enclosed garden a huge benefit. It was great to have information on how to work various things, location of pharmacy, vet etc and walking route suggestions. Fabulous any time of the year as I am sure in the winter the open log fire would be so lovely.

Wonderful property in a great location. We easily kept ourselves busy all week with our family without having to travel too far each day. Kitchen was well equipped, and the garden is fantastic, a great space for the children to play.

The cottagecwas lovely, extremely well equipped. However, there is a shortage of hanging space and draws in the bedrooms. There is only one parking space for the cottage with no parking on the road in front of the cottage as it is a single track road and a good walk to where extra cars can go. The cottage is warm and very comfortable and tge beds aRead morere lovely. Hide
