Bring your hound on a peaceful retreat in this delightful cottage. A huge garden means lots of space for pets to zoom around, while inside there’s room for couples or families to relax in comfort. When you do venture further afield, you can walk in the woods or stroll to the sandy beaches of the Isle of Wight coast.
This charming escape is decorated in traditional style while offering all the mod cons you’ll need on holiday. The country kitchen includes a microwave and a dishwasher, as well as a dining table where you can gather for sociable meals. The lounge boasts a DVD player and a Smart TV – ready for a night of entertainment as your mutt basks at your feet. You may also want to spend time relaxing in the conservatories, one at each end of the house, appreciating the views and spotting local wildlife. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom with a hand-held shower over the bath. Take the cottage-style stairs to the first floor and you’ll find three bedrooms – an elegant double, a pretty twin and, through the twin and down some steps, a single room. When your pup needs fresh air, explore the cottage’s 3 acres of garden and woodland, which includes a large lawn and a decked area for al fresco dining. Do note that access to the cottage is via a single-track, gravel lane and not suitable for low-slung vehicles. There is off-road parking nearby for two cars.
With the adjoining cottage used by the owner only occasionally, this quiet getaway is a lovely spot in which to unwind. Head out on walks from your door, perhaps exploring Borthwood Copse, known for its ancient oaks and chestnuts, or heading to the beach at Shanklin, 4 miles, parts of which are dog-friendly all year.
