Explore the North Yorkshire Moors from this delightful granary that comfortably accommodates four people and two dogs. This gorgeous detached barn is situated in an idyllic countryside setting with plenty of dog walking and cycling routes through North Riding Forest Park just outside.

 

Original beams and characterful decor make this detached stone cottage a perfect English country getaway. Hard wood flooring throughout the ground floor makes it ideal for your canine companion, with plenty of room for him or her to curl up in their bed. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room allow plenty of light to flood in year-round. The outside area is next to a stream and has a seating area and BBQ, a peaceful spot to relax and dine alfresco while your dog winds down by your feet.

 

A pub is located opposite this cottage, so you don’t have to travel far to enjoy a home-cooked meal and sample the local ale. Within 3 miles, you can reach the charming village of Thornton le Dale, which boasts independent shops and dog friendly cafes and pubs. From here, you can head down paths that take you through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and Dalby Forest. The market town of Helmsley is 18 miles away, a great day out for your four-legged friend as not only is this ideally situated for more walks, but many of the shops and eateries in the town welcome dogs. 18.5 miles south of the property is Castle Howard, one of Britain’s finest stately homes.

Well looked after cottage which was ideally located for visiting the moors and local attractions including York. Several local public houses serving good food. Recommend the Fox and Rabbit at Lockton especially with Children and dogs. The Cayley Arms opposite the Grannary was an excellent place to eat.Mel and Gary were excellent friendly hosts.

The Granary is in a perfect location for visiting many towns, villages, and other places of interest. The North Yorks Railway is only a 10 minute drive away. The property has been beautifully converted and has a lovely open feel to it with the large glass frontage providing warmth from the sun. This cottage is a gem and in a perfect location for forest or coast trips out. Mel and Gary go above & beyond to ensure your stay is as comfortable and as easy as possible. A gated entrance provided an enclosed space for our two large labradors and just beyond our parked cars, another gate allowed access to their farm fields-an early morning or latRead moree evening run about was incredibly convenient. Had a relaxing two weeks at this cottage. The cottage was spotless, the kitchen very well stocked with all you need for a self catering stay. Mel and Gary the perfect hosts, so friendly and accommodating. The welcome pack was a lovely extra, the beds comfy. Although on a main road it didn't impact our stay. We absolutely loved our stay in The Granary. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and we were very happy there. The location was perfect, as was the weather, for all the places we wanted to visit. Mel and Garry are fantastic hosts: really helpful and very friendly. They were extremely kind to our two dogs and didn't mind them wandering in the spaces outside the cottage. What a fantastic place to stay! Welcome pack on arrival was a thoughtful touch, fresh eggs were delicious. It was really well equipped, had everything we needed, and more besides. Spotlessly clean throughout. Lovely location, and a pleasant outdoor space to sit out and enjoy the glorious weather we had. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

From the moment we arrived we could tell there was a feeling of quality about the property. It has everything you could or would need for a long weekend or even a week away. beds were comfortable, rooms clean and spacious, both having en-suite was a bonus. We really enjoyed this beautiful, modern and bright barn conversion, which was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Mel and Gary were friendly and always on hand if you had any queries. A lovely selection of welcome goodies...bread, butter, fresh eggs, milk, jam. Lots of places to visit and close to the coast. The barn is opposite the Cayley ArRead morems pub, which served delicious food, but unfortunately didn't allow dogs inside. There was road noise, but this didn't spoil our holiday. Hide

A really lovely comfortable barn conversion cottage in an ideal location to get to the coast, the North Yorkshire Moors or inland. Mel was just great in making us feel welcome and answering any questions we had during our stay. Yes there is some road noise but did not bother us. Would definitely recommend this property.

One of best holiday cottages we have stayed in, extremely comfortable and well equipped. Very pleasant hosts we would definitely visit again. The beautiful weather made this a memorable holiday.
