Malton is a great option for foodies, known as the ‘food capital’ of Yorkshire with markets and events running throughout the year and a number of fantastic eateries for special occasions. York (16 miles) is also a must-visit whilst staying in the area to explore its historic Viking past; wander within the city walls and spot sites such as York Minster and Clifford’s Tower before stopping off for a bite to eat at a dog-friendly pub, cafe or restaurant.
