The lodge is the perfect hideaway for friends and a canine companion looking for somewhere to chill out deep in the countryside with no one else around. It has lots of outside space and easy access to miles and miles of pup-friendly walking and cycling trails, yet isn’t too far from pubs, shops, beaches, and other fun stuff for two and four-legged explorers alike.
From the sleek lines of the exterior to the funky design inside, the house is uber stylish with wooden features, bold colours and prints, and rustic flooring. On chilly evenings, you can light the wood burner and relax on the comfy sofas and watch TV while Rover snoozes in his basket. When it’s warm, fling open the bi-fold doors, throw some sausages on the BBQ and stoke up the fire pit for an evening under the stars. The large garden is enclosed – safe for dogs to run around freely – and has far-reaching views across the countryside. There’s plenty of space for four indoors too with two good-sized bedrooms, a walk-in wardrobe in each, and two bathrooms.
Explore the countryside on your doorstep with your four-legged friend by your side. There’s a lovely 10-mile walk called the Stenbury Trail which goes from Newport to Ventnor with wonderful views along the way. Close to the lodge, there are picturesque walks along the River Yar. Shanklin Chine (6 miles away), a historic gorge, is so beautiful it inspired Jane Austen and JMW Turner, so definitely worth a visit. Shanklin has lots of quirky shops and places to eat out, as well as a theatre and crazy golf, and the beach is a popular place for water sports. Ventnor too has a beautiful beach, the stunning Botanic Garden where dogs are welcome, as well as a museum if you want to learn more about the area’s rich history.
