Four dogs are welcome at this beautiful detached farmhouse, situated on the outskirts of Caldwell and within 10 miles of Barnard Castle and Richmond. Featuring a courtyard garden, an impressive lounge and a snug room, it is ideal for small families or groups of friends keen to explore the northern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Surrounded by open countryside, this charming farmhouse blends traditional rustic furnishings with a wealth of original features, including exposed ceiling beams and inglenook fireplaces, found throughout rooms offering space for the whole group to enjoy time together or apart. The spacious lounge features exposed beams and an impressive fireplace, along with spectacular garden views through double doors. The cosy snug room, perfect for quiet time, has its own wood burner, while the large dining room will eagerly await guilt-free meals served in the neighbouring kitchen. Upstairs, a family bathroom is close to three bedrooms: an en-suite king-size bedroom; a double bedroom; and an en-suite twin bedroom that can be made up into a super-king-size bedroom. The attractive courtyard garden, split between a patio and a lawned area, is a tranquil place to relax, whether over a morning coffee or BBQ supper, with a garden room on hand for those in need of peace and quiet. A handy boot room is also on hand to deal with mucky pups.

The area around Caldwell (1.5 miles) is well-trodden by walkers heading out on foot to discover some of the most renowned market towns in North Yorkshire. Barnard Castle and Richmond (within 10 miles) are home to dog-friendly historic and cultural attractions, with scores of walking routes, endless scenic landscapes and dog-friendly village pubs waiting to be discovered in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (10 miles).

This is an exceptional property in a lovely rural location. It is well-cared-for and presented beautifully. Theres lots to see in this area and there are (still) some good pubs nearby. The hosts are charming and helpful. Altogether a lovely holiday destination.

Fantastic property in a very relaxing location. Fully equipped with everything you might need, including a very goo store of logs. Outstanding The cottage is finished to a very high standard which feels luxurious and homely. There is plenty of space to socialise dine and relax without feeling your on top of each other. The bedrooms are a fabulous size and very comfortable. The bathrooms have good showers and towels provided felt luxurious and large. We all slept very well. Read more The gardens are great for the dogs. We sat out in the morning with a coffee watching oyr digs having fun while taking in the magnificent views. The courtyard was lovely to relax in and summer room was comfortable. Our host was very approachable and answered all our questions and was very accommodating. A fantastic house in a secluded setting which was ideal for 2 of our dogs who are reactive. The gardens and paddock are amazing all 4 dogs loved them. Having 2 lounges was also a bonus to give space for our elderly dog and giving a quiet area for reading, listening to music. Dont go any further with your search! Cant recommend this cottage enough. Its beautiful with fabulous views. We had a fabulous week in this gorgeous house. Everything you could want - comfy beds, lots of space, good showers, every pot/pan/utensil you might need etc. We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. We loved the cottage. The dogs loved the field. Would highly recommend. Everything you need is provided from the kitchen to the living rooms. We had a wonderful time here, plenty of space for humans and dogs, the dogs loved the courtyard and the large field, we only have small dogs, they loved running round the field chasing use. Excellent , beautiful cottage . We had a wonderful time its such a beautiful cottage away from everything just what we needed . The 3 dogs loved their week too a very small issue was that we couldnt make use of the lawned area as much as we would have liked as its not secure . Our old dog fell off the wall into the field and our younger dog kept goRead moreing off after squirrels and rabbits however the use of the field made up for this . The cottage is amazing, access via a track from the road, so it is literally all by itself. The property has it's own field, fence, so is perfect for dogs. This is a lovely property with superb views and its so quiet. Always clean and welcoming you wont find anywhere more comfortable for your visit to the Barnard Castle area. A fabulous cottage! Spotless throughout and extremely comfortable. Cosy log fire with plenty of wood available! We stayed in February so didn't use the front or back garden, but would imagine they'd be lovely to sit out in in the summer and enjoy the views! Great location, and very private. A fabulous location, very dog friendly & the secure field was much loved by them. Just a shame the garden area was not secure. The house is well maintained, clean & comfortable.
