We had a really fabulous long Easter weekend here with our dog. We had such a warm welcome from Tracy and Richard who were the perfect hosts. The grounds are beautiful and we were fortunate to have a visit from the glorious local Peacock. Wildlife here is in abundance, many birds, bees, squirrels to watch & we saw Deer on two occasions too! The front deck is a really lovely place to sit, we were blessed with a glorious sunset on our last evening which we watched from there. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog, a nice size and felt private & quite secluded. Poop bags, poop bin & bowls were supplied for the dog which was great. Being a dark skies area, the night sky on a clear night is really spectacular! The abundance of bright stars was really something. The recommendation for the Nepalese Indian Namaste Gurkha was spot on! We enjoyed a takeaway delivery from there on our first evening, the food was incredible. We are gutted we cannot get anything like that closer to home! We visited the wonderful gardens at Sherborne Castle which has a fantastic garden centre next door, we had a lovely lunch there. We visited the happy farmer caf which did the most delicious hot chocolate & tiffin! There are some great walks locally and Farm shops too! This was a much needed, peaceful and comfortable break and we would be delighted to return. Thank you very much Tracy & Richard, it was a pleasure to meet you both and to stay in your wonderful Scandinavian log cabin. Hide
