A treat of a retreat, this absolutely charming, terraced cottage sits within the beautiful Yorkshire village of Haworth in Bradford. Once home to the Bronte sisters, this beautiful, historic town is a literary mecca and attracts visitors from all around the world. Having retained much of its old-world charm, it is a wonderful place to visit – especially with beloved hounds in tow – largely due to the abundance of dog-friendly countryside pubs and scenic walks you can all embark on. The cottage itself is picture perfect, dating back to the 1600s, the owners have retained its characterful features, mixed in with contemporary luxury touches; it’s an ideal base for families and groups of up to six people and two bow-wows.

Bursting with charm, step inside to the gorgeous lounge with exposed stonework and restored wooden beams, the owners have curated a sumptuous space with an airy palette, three comfortable sofas and local artwork adorning the walls, all centred around a large wood burner…where sleeping dogs are sure to lie! The kitchen traditional-style country kitchen is modern and boasts all you need to cook up hearty meals after time spent in the inspiring surrounding countryside; from here, a few steps lead down to the cellar which also doubles up as a utility room – a handy place to store coasts, shoes and dog accessories. Head upstairs to three well-appointed bedrooms, all featuring vaulted ceilings and all decorated beautifully, the first of which is a king size bedroom which offers spectacular views. Follow the corridor down to a family bathroom and two further bedrooms, a double and a twin room. To enjoy the outside space, head back downstairs to the lounge, where patio doors will lead you into the delightful cottage garden. There’s a paved terrace area with seating and a BBQ for warmer evenings or in cooler months, armed with a hot chocolate and a picnic blanket, sit back and take in the breathtaking countryside views whilst your dogs frolic across the lawn.

Set within the heart of a bustling village that’s steeped in history, there are an abundance of adventures to be unleashed during your time in Yorkshire. From your doorstep, there are shops, cafes and dog-friendly pubs offering plenty of opportunity to gather as a family or a group and enjoy making memories. The property is surrounded by the spectacular scenery that inspired so much of the Bronte sisters’ work, so you won’t be short of inspiration directly from your doorstep; the Bronte Waterfall is only 2 miles away and there is a fantastic circular walk that takes this in if you head along Bronte Way up to Top Withens. Located between the Peak District National Park (30 miles) and Yorkshire Dales National Park (16 miles) it’s a haven for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. Its location was second to none. If you want to roll out of bed into the beautiful historic cobbled streets of Haworth this is theplace for you. The cottage is extremely cosy, a real home from home. There were lots of nice touches including a welcome basket and drawers with all the kitchen and laundry essentialRead mores. We thought the lack of parking may be a problem but we easily found free parking spaces throughout the week and you can drive up to the house to unload and pack the car. The owners were also very responsive to any of our queries . The icing on the cake , was discovering the houses Bronte connections. I would whole heartedly recommend this property to anyone exploring west yorkshire and beyond. Hide

Lovely cottage, really well set out, well equipped, clean and full of character. Welcome pack on arrival was appreciated. There are a number of gift and book shops locally as well as pubs and cafes but some of the shops are only open at the weekends out of season. Garden is beautiful and very secure for larger dogs (gap under the garden gate being the only place a small dog might be able to wriggle out under.)
