Take him on long walks through the Purbeck Hills too or follow a section of the South West Coast Path along the famous Jurassic coastline.

Call your perfect pal through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with its revealed stonework and settle on the sofa while he pads about. Switch on the TV/DVD, play music through the iPod dock or Sonos Sound System and light a fire so he can bask in its heat. Grab the lead and venture 1 mile from the cottage to reach the coast at Winspit or from Worth Matravers enjoy a 5-mile, circular walk, taking in Winspit Quarry and a section of the South West Coast Path, passing St Aldhelm’s Head. Drive 6.5 miles inland and undertake a 3.5-mile walk, through picturesque National Trust land and along the Hartland Way, with far-reaching views out towards Corfe Castle.
