Plan for rural walks in Somerset and Devon, discovering the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on your doorstep (2.5 miles) and the coastal East Devon AONB a little further afield (11.5 miles). Flock to Monmouth Beach (17.5 miles) where dogs are welcome year-round, or follow the South West Coast Path for unforgettable walkies along the Jurassic Coast. Venture to the Quantock Hills AONB (15.5 miles) and enjoy a calming walk up Cothelstone Hill (19 miles), or perhaps mosey around Glastonbury town (27.5 miles) for a relaxing day out.

Purchases Barn was perfect for us, everything needed was provided and the views from the property were amazing, it was warm, cosy, comfortable throughout, hot tub was a bonus as was the large garden and property was easy to find, we had a fabulous time and the owner was very helpful, we will return!

Can not fault Purchases Barn. Perfect for our 3 night break with the luxury of a hot tub too. Everything we could wish for and the owner was lovely too.

Gorgeous cottage, comfortable, warm and well equipped. Views are glorious and the hot tub is a great extra facility. Although in countryside its not remote and there are plenty of pubs and an Italian restaurant nearby for meals out and shops in Ilminster for everything you need. Recommend highly.

We had a wonderful family stay at this beautiful home in Somerset. A very spacious home, with a wonderful garden and spectacular views, I would highly recommend for a relaxing break!

This is a fabulous property in an excellent location, with stunning views from the spacious living areas which are ideal for a large family or multi family groups. The large garden was great for the dogs and the hot tub was a definite bonus and used every day. The property is well equipped with good sized bedrooms and well appointed bathrooms. We loved our stay.Plenty of space for everyone,nice layout.Great views.Hot tub fun in the snow and ice! Take a bluetooth speaker,none provided. Good size sloping lawn but you'll need wellies in the winter as it's quite boggy.If you have a Houdini (or small) dog,the hedges & 5 bar gate might not contain them,but ours were fine.We got snowed/iced-in Read morewhilst staying,recommend 4x4/AWD in winter, as sloping driveway very icy, and a car slid & crashed outside the barn on a steepish section of the lane. The barn was great, so clean, well equipped and peaceful. Di the owner was really friendly and accommodating. Our dog Cassie loved the garden there were plenty of pheasants to flush out of the hedges (she is a working dog so she does not chase them).

We were a party of 8 (us, our four young children and our elderly parents) plus our two dogs. Purchases was perfect: The view (obviously!), the room layout of two doubles and two twins, the hot tub (enjoyed by children and adults alike!), the space and the great size garden - which the dogs enjoyed immensely.
