Designed for one or two guests plus a pair of furry pals, this characterful glamping lodge offers a peaceful escape in the heart of delightful countryside. Spend days hiking woodland trails or throwing balls on sandy beaches, and return home to relax on the veranda or in front of the cosy wood burner.
Set over a single storey, the timber-clad lodge is an open-plan, studio space designed for comfort and simplicity. As you follow your pups inside, you’ll be wowed by the wonderful views through the windows. After busy days in the open air, stretch out in the cosy seating area with dog beds on the floor nearby, lighting the wood burner for additional warmth. Pull a board game from the shelves or switch on the Smart TV for entertainment. The compact kitchen is arranged for easy meal preparation, and includes both a microwave and an air fryer, while bar stools at the dining counter look out onto a sweeping rural vista. The double bed provides a restful sleeping space, with curtains for privacy, plus a daybed adding flexibility and ample storage for clothes. A separate shower room completes the layout. Patio doors lead directly to a covered veranda with seating, perfect for enjoying the far-reaching views, and there’s also an open grassy area where hounds can sniff, with further seating and a fire pit. Private parking for one car is provided.
Located in Glengap, a farming area just outside the village of Twynholm, the lodge is just 4 miles from the sandy Dhoon Beach, and 5 miles from Kirkcudbright, known as ‘the artists’ town’, where you can visit MacLellan’s Castle (on leads) or try out the dog-friendly pubs and cafes. From Gatehouse of Fleet (6 miles) you can head out on a circular, 3-mile walk through Cally Woods.
