This quirky and colourful holiday home set in a large south-east Cornwall village is perfect for a family getaway by the coast. Spend your days exploring the nearby canine-friendly beaches, scenic seafront walking trails and the Devonshire port city of Plymouth. In the evenings, you can unwind in the garden or curl up by the wood burner in the cheerful and bright lounge.

Step inside to find an elegant blend of period charm with a bright, boho infusion throughout this cheerful two-storey Georgian home. Natural light pours through the large window in the lounge, which is decorated in tones of purple, blue and green. Opposite the wood burner is a plump velvet sofa and a retro metal and glass coffee table. Continue through the open, wooden bifolding doors to reach the green, grey and wooden kitchen/diner with elegant glass, hanging lights. Move past the green dining table to reach the fitted ‘U’-shaped kitchen unit with grey cabinets, white countertops and patterned splashback tiles. Upstairs are two lovingly decorated, boutique-style bedrooms with patterned decor – a king-size and a double. There is also a stylish blue family bathroom with a shower over the free-standing tub. Outside, you’ll find a bistro table on the patio overlooking the lawned garden. There is public parking in the village car park, less than 0.5 miles away.

During your break in Millbrook, wander around the village and grab a takeaway from the fish and chip shop or grab a drink at the canine-welcoming bar. Lead the way to adventure with a stroll along the Rame Head Heritage Coast (1 mile), stopping at the sandy Cawsand Beach (1.5 miles). Head to the coastal village of Cremyll (3 miles) to catch a ferry over the River Tamar to the lively city of Plymouth (8.5 miles).

Good central location to explore the forgotten corner of Cornwall. We explored round Cawsand and Kingsand, Edgcumbe Country Park and caught ferry to Plymouth. Parking wasnt an issue, used the public car park (free after 4pm) or parked on road during the day. House is beautifully decorated and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped to cook a meaRead morel. We werent aware bathroom was downstairs but not an issue for us. Steep steps up into the garden which our dog struggled with when wet. Although it was June, weather was cool but house was cosy. Visited pub (2doors away) for drinks, free house so reasonable prices. Locals are very friendly. Handy to have Coop within a short walk. Nice walks round the lake. Hide
