If your four-pawed friends love nothing more than long walks in wild landscapes, look no further than this charming Highlands cottage. With room for couples, friends or small families, it boasts a wood burner for cosy evenings in, and an enclosed garden for pups to play outside.

Hang leads in the hall and follow your pups into the comfortable getaway, which has underfloor heating across the ground floor. A thoughtful detail for pet owners is the provision of dog towels and blankets. The lounge/diner offers a welcoming space in which to relax, with soft seating, a Smart TV, and a wood burner adding extra cosiness in cooler months. French doors open straight to the garden, and an armchair by the window is perfect for curling up with a book as your pups snooze in their beds. The adjoining kitchen features a microwave and a dishwasher, with cupboard space for canine treats as well as local delicacies picked up on your travels. The king-size bedroom on this level is complemented by a ground-floor WC, while upstairs you’ll find two further bedrooms, a study and a spacious family bathroom. Reach the garden from the lounge or the back door (it’s one step down from both), whether for a morning coffee or a sundowner. There is private parking for one car, with a public car park nearby for additional cars.

The cottage is located in a private lane in the heart of Dingwall, less than 300 metres from shops, pubs and places to eat. Follow the canal from the town centre to the picnic point (1 mile) and splendid coastal views. Canines who enjoy getting out on the water can join you for a dolphin-spotting boat trip from Avoch, 13.5 miles away, while there are lovely woodland walks to Rogie Falls (9.5 miles).

We absolutely loved our highland holiday at 1 Mansfield and dogs enjoyed themselves too What a beautiful cottage with everything you need modern yet rustic feel to it. Walking distance to shops in Dingwall yet cottage tucked out of the way so feels secure and peaceful. Hope to be back thank you Naomi
