If it’s some of the country’s finest surf that you’re after, then this bright apartment makes the perfect base for three guests and a hound looking for a North Cornwall retreat. Ideally situated in the popular area of Porth, you are within easy reach of golden sands, with the South West Coast Path providing you with a short walk to Watergate Bay, or on towards Padstow.

 

This stylish first-floor property has a cosy and bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, which ensures that no one is left out, whether you’re cooking a meal, planning an adventure at the dining table or simply relaxing on the sofa. From the lounge, patio doors leading out onto a balcony where you will discover lovely views, or you can head downstairs and relax on the shared patio area. You also have access to a secure garage to store your surfboards, wetsuits or bikes.

 

Located to the east of Newquay, Porth has numerous eateries and watering holes for you to enjoy, with a small supermarket in neighbouring Columb Minor (1 mile away) if you would prefer to eat in. More restaurants, bars and cafes – and entertainment for all ages – can be found in the heart of Newquay, 2 miles west, and the town is also home to numerous sandy surf beaches to satisfy salty sea dogs (useful, as Porth beach is a dog-free zone from 9am–7pm). Further afield, the pretty harbour of Padstow lies 14 miles north-east, where you can watch the local fishing fleet land its catch before enjoying the day’s haul at one of the local seafood restaurants.

Lovely apartment a stones throw from a beautiful little beach. Everything you need and more in the apartment and lovely and clean. Also welcome gifts left which were much appreciated ie milk, cookies etc. The communication with owner was also very good as we had to text them on arrival and they responded straight away. The only issues we had waRead mores the neighbour parking and having cars in and out all day outside apartment right under the balcony which spoilt the privacy and made our parking difficult. There was usually between 4-5 cars parked outside with people to and fro. Also the pictures of the garden look nicer than it actually is as there are two washing lines there which were full all the time we were there so we didnt use this space. Still available space if you dont mind this though! Hide

Nice location though quite noisy near the road. Also, the man living next door has a habit of parking in front of the space where our car was parked. This was quite annoying. Also, there was very small sewage leak at the bottom of the outside steps, which was unpleasant (the owner seemed to be sorting this out though).

A lovely well equipped and clean apartment, very close to beach. Helpful response to queries from owners. Some mobile reception/mobile broadband poor in area. Good wi-fi. You probably need a car because shops are a considerable walk and buses once an hour.

The cottage is great, very close to the beach, but far enough from the road. It has pretty much everything you need and spacious enough for the three adults and a large dog. Nice caffe just down the road, all supermarkets 5-10 minutes drive. A parking space is a big bonus. There is fast wifi. Sandy Idyll was a great apartment, well kitted out for our stay and a perfect location to porth beach. Porth beach itself serves some of the best morning sunrise views. Tea house next door to apartment is highly recommended with super friendly staff serving up excellent breakfasts.
