Spend your days exploring the beautiful beaches of Cornwall’s north coast before returning to this cosy retreat to spend the evening cosied up in front of the warming wood burner in the property’s comfortable lounge area. A patio area offers space for al fresco dining, whilst a tiered lawn is a lovely place for your dogs to stretch their legs.

On arrival at this barn-conversion cottage, make yourself at home in the attractive open-plan living area comprising a kitchen/diner with a sunny seating area situated to one end, providing the perfect place for chatting over drinks. Open the patio doors to let your dogs get some fresh air out on the patio, or retreat to the separate lounge where the wood burner can be lit whilst you sit back on the leather sofas to watch a film on the TV/DVD. Each of the restful bedrooms can be found upstairs, and due to the nature of the cottage all have charmingly sloping beamed ceilings but do be careful to mind your head.

The pretty village of Jacobstow, where this property is situated, is a great base from which to explore Cornwall’s beautiful coastline. The village pub, a mile down the road, is a lovely place to pop out for a pint or to settle in for the evening over dinner, and they welcome dogs at the bar, so there is no need to leave your faithful friend pining at the cottage. In the daytime, spend your time at one of the area’s many beaches, the majority of which such as Crackington Haven (4 miles) welcome dogs from October to May, with several, including the beautiful National Trust managed Sandymouth, being open to our four-legged friends all-year round.

We found The Coach House to be very spacious, comfortable, warm and well equipped, loved our stay. Garden has steep steps up, which was could be a struggle for the very elderly and was for our dog, but there is a courtyard area to sit. Located up a quiet lane in Jacobstow, a small village. Although we know North Cornwall pretty well, there are plenRead morety of places to visit near and further a field. Hide

A wholesome family holiday was had in this beautiful, spacious and fantastically equipped house. The hamlet is so pretty and peaceful with lovely woodland walks. Locals are friendly and great location to visit, Crackington Haven which is minutes away, Bude, Boscastle, Tintagle which are all no more than a 20/30 minute drive. Wadebridge is 40 minuteRead mores away which we recommend and Padstow not far after. Highly recommend for families with children or dogs or both! Hide

Had a lovely week at The Coach House - very clean and well equipped. Cookies and milk on arrival. (Dog treats would have been a nice touch) Comfy beds, lovely big kitchen with patio doors to courtyard garden. In a quiet village setting. This was the only downside for us, no proper garden for children to play. About 10mins drive to Bude, lovely fishRead more n chips at The Mermaid takeaway. Close to Widemouth beach which was lovely (dogs one end) One hr drive to The Eden Project which was amazing. Hide

Property felt very tired downstairs, and was damp and sticky and full of flies, but improved after a day or two when it was aired. Gravel on drive was deep, one of our party sunk into the gravel causing her to trip up the step, fall over and bang her head on the cottage wall it was also difficult to drive on. This is an extremely well equipped home that is very comfortable and has a great deal of space both inside and outside for a large family. It was easily accessible with an enclosed garden and parking. The location is ideal for holidaying in this area. We enjoyed a great stay and would certainly come back again.
