If you’ve ever imagined yourself wandering along the stunning South West Coast Path without a care in the world, just you and your trusted canine companion, then this could be the perfect property for you. Conveniently situated within easy reach of the Cornish coastline and close to fascinating places of interest such as Tintagel Castle and Port Isaac which is home to the TV series Doc Martin, you most certainly won’t be bored during your holiday here. This warm and welcoming home-from-home provides the perfect base from which to explore this stunning area and is ideal for a family along with up to two fun loving pups.

Stepping into this beautifully converted barn you’ll first enter the open-plan lounge/dining/kitchen area which has been cleverly designed to maximise the space and light. Exposed wooden ceiling rafters stretch up to the apex of the property and add a homely, traditional feel to this room. The exposed brick fire surround tucked into the corner perfectly compliments the character of the cottage with the added benefit of providing cosy warmth on cooler evenings. There are also three bedrooms which offer a restful place for tired heads to lay and listen to the sounds of nature before dropping into a deep and rejuvenating sleep.

Tintagel is well worth the 5-mile drive from the cottage, particularly if you are fascinated by the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Equally interesting is a 5-mile trip to the pretty fishing village of Boscastle where, along with a natural harbour and tiny port, you’ll find the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic - an independent museum dedicated to exploring British magical practices through unique, entertaining and educational exhibitions.

The barn itself was well equipped and very comfortable. It could do with a larger frying pan if I was going to be really picky. If you come with dogs then the main road was a big concern for us. Our dogs could easily either go under the gate or over the wall to the very busy B road. There is a smaller bit of garden which is fenced off but again theRead morere were gaps that our small dog could get under so she had to be on lead all the time. This made being in the garden not as relaxed as I had hoped for. A great property and location if you dont have dogs. Hide

Location is great for access to many North coast attractions. Road noise can be a problem, we stayed at harvest time and there were tractors passing all day and evening. Generally well equipped spacious and comfortable. Would stay again!

The location of this huge house is fantastic, however its on a busy road. The property is just a few minutes drive to Tintagel and Port Isaac. The views from the property are great! There is lots of room to spread out and relax on the sofas. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you could need. The beds are really comfy. We recommend this prRead moreoperty! Hide

Be wary of this property if you don't have dogs as dog hair everywhere. Take your own glasses as they have limited. And don't expect to cook in the oven as not sure it's ever been cleaned. The view is lovely but the property is tired.

Lovely, spacious and clean. Perfect for our old dog, as property is all on one level. Situation was great for getting to Port Issac and other parts of north and south Cornwall. We visited Boscastle and Bude, Bodmin and Wadebridge and the Camel Trail. Padstow and surrounding areas were not much further. The south coast of Cornwall was only around 1 Read morehour drive to both Polperro and Mevagissey. The Old Barn was a lovely place to come back to after a day out to cook dinner, relax and sleep! The cottage was much bigger than wed anticipated amazing kitchen dining and lounge open space. Loved the location and the presence of the swifts nesting in the adjacent out building. The EV charger was so convenient. Would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Would not recommend as only 1 of the three toilets work and big radiator in front room also not working. Oven numbers worn and smeaches when you cook. Also if you like to go on holiday and chill and have a glass of wine Take your own glasses unless you like drinking wine out of tumblers or beer glasses!!

We came home a day earlier, we would have come home two days earlier if it wasn't for the bad weather. We would NOT recommend this cottage to stay in during the colder months. The bath panel is only just hanging on, the clothes dryer heat works but doesn't dry your clothes as the drum doesn't go round. This cottage needs a FULL update. No hot waterRead more in the twin bedded room. There should be a starter pack of logs but nothing there to help, we were so cold most of the time Hide
