Located in the historic town of Shoreham-By-Sea, this gorgeous period property provides a fantastic seaside escape for families and groups of friends looking to explore the Sussex coastline and the South Downs National Park. Sleeping up to six people and one small pup, this thatched cottage has a stunning private garden with a summerhouse, and riverside walks right on your doorstep.
From the moment you step into this property, you can feel its charm and character. Traditional tiled floors downstairs and wooden floors on the first floor, beamed ceilings (sometimes you may need to watch your head!), and lovely brick-built fireplaces, all furnished in typical period style. With two living rooms, there’s plenty of space to spread out (and no arguments over what to watch on TV), with fireplaces in both rooms for added cosiness. Prepare food for your entire pack in the atmospheric kitchen, then gather round the dining table or in the garden on sunny days. There’s plenty of space in the mature lawned garden to have a ball with your four-legged friend, or just enjoy some peace and quiet in the sun. At the end of the day, retire upstairs to the four bedrooms for a restful night’s sleep (please note that one of the single bedrooms can only be accessed via one of the double bedrooms).
Lead the way to adventure in the morning, with walkies along the riverside or a stroll down to Shoreham beach (1.2 miles), which is dog friendly year round. This property is much loved by walkers and cyclists with cycle paths to Steyning and Bramber (4.5 and 4 miles respectively), while the South Downs National Park backs onto the town. With a working harbour, monthly farmers’ market, and a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, there’s plenty to keep you and your canine companion entertained in town, too.
