What a lovely cottage in the most tranquil of locations. We were planning to 'eat out; for our holiday, but loved it so much, we ate in every evening and mostly in the lovely garden. Our dog was most happy too, with a secure dog friendly garden to mooch in and plenty of space indoors too. The cottage is beautiful as is the village (Shame the pub clRead moreosed decades ago!). Indeed, the only noise was the rather incessant 'love calling' of the wood pigeons, to whom we registered a complaint :-) We would recommend this cottage to anyone seeking a chill, 'e' detox holiday in a location that is not only splendid, but within easy reach of so much of beautiful North Norfolk. Lovely cottage. Very quiet and peaceful. Garden lovely in the late afternoon /evening to sit and relax. Our dog explored the garden constantly. Good amount of birds as well! Kitchen reasonably equipped. All was clean and presented well. Bed must be on a squeaky board, getting in and out of bed quite noisy. Good parking.

We recently stayed at this cottage for 2 nights, it was clean, well-presented, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. However, unfortunately, the heating system let the experience down as we were without heating and hot water on the second day. As a side note, we also felt it would benefit from some board games/books or even a local magazine for tips on what to see and do. Something has clearly changed, this property is far from 'cosy'! Arrived 9pm to a freezing cold cottage. Located heating controls which had a padlock on! On calling owner we were told we were 'probably suffering as a result of previous abuse' and the heating 'is rationed'! Were told to press the 'extra hour button', limited to 3 times! We did but aRead morefter using the 'allowed' heating it was still freezing. The next morning no heating! Used extra hour 3 times. Warmest seen 16 degrees! AVOID.

Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: We were very sorry to hear of your experience at this cottage. The heating controls are not locked and allow for an increase in temperature whenever required and is not limited to 3 times. Instead, it allows for unlimited blocks of 3 hours in duration. Recent feedback has suggested the cottage is comfortable and well heated but we will seek to clarify the instructions in the cottage.
We are pleased to have been able to provide a refund less the night stayed. Hide
