This characterful property in Whitstable is a perfect home for a romantic break or for families to splash and have fun at the seaside. There’s plenty of space in the property to sleep six and two dogs over three great sized bedrooms. For those keen on outdoor living, this is the place for you as the property boasts a wonderful garden with a large lawn for both children and dogs to tear around on. Challenge the kids to a game of swingball and then fire up the charcoal BBQ for some outdoor dining.

Enter the property via the small hallway where there’s plenty of space to pop your shoes, coat and dog leads ready for a day of adventure. In the lounge you’ll be able to take advantage of the plump sofas, bean bag and blankets while you and your waggy-tailed ones curl up in front of the wood burner. Follow the beautiful wooden floor throughout the lounge to the dining area where you’ll find a huge table with ample space for six, so whatever you whip up in the bespoke, handmade kitchen you should all be able to eat together. For solo mornings, a breakfast bar provides the perfect place to perch with a coffee. The bedrooms are accessed by two steep, narrow wooden staircases, adding to the property’s charm.

Whitstable is a seaside town with a strong medieval history, famous for its low-level marsh area known as The Salts. You’ll find a wealth of independent shops, restaurants and cafes in the area. Dogs will welcome the beach and coastal walks, whereas their human family members may go in search of watersports such as kite surfing and sailing. Further afield is the historic city of Canterbury (7 miles) which houses the world famous cathedral and affords visitors a bustling city atmosphere.

Very disappointing. If booking, beware you will need footwear in every room. Floorboards and cracked kitchen floor tiles in need of repair. Settees in living room, very uncomfortable. Road noise very early and late evening. Beds were comfortable and shower adequate. Stairwell very step and no carpets, stairwell to top bedrooms extremely narrow and Read moreonly suitable for children to access. Over all poor. Garden a mess. Although towels were provided all smelt musty.

Salthouse, a perfect place to stay as a couple or family. We had a brilliant time there. Off a main road but with a front gated yard so you do not come straight out onto the road. Back garden is gated, perfect for dog. Central heating, works perfectly + two log burners made it especially cosy. The owners left us everything needed for a perfect XmasRead more stay. 10 mins from the beach and super close to shops/high street. 10-15 mins walk from the train station. clean and tidy. Perfect. would stay again Hide

This property should be advertised as on a busy main road, during the daytime is not a problem but night times are. Also although the stairs are advertised as steep older holiday makers could find them a problem as we did.

The cottage was mostly as described and in a good location, and we appreciated the loan of a dog crate and the provision of wood for the lovely wood burners. Downsides unfortunately were a faulty boiler, messy garden and some grime in bathroom floor tiles and bath sealant.

This is a great little cottage in a great location. We had bikes with us and could set off straight from the cottage and hit the cycle routes with no problems. The attic room is great fun for kids! The stairs a steep though so do be careful if you're unsteady on your feet; but there's stairgates for children so it's perfectly safe, just something tRead moreo be aware of. We hadn't noticed there wasn't any parking but expect that was us rushing to book, and wasn't a problem as we found plenty of places. Hide
