Need a lovely location for a larger group? This beautiful waterside cottage near Wroxham is a true rural paradise. It’s a detached house with its own private Norfolk Broad, along with a gated wooden jetty leading to it. The spacious property sleeps up to 12 so is ideal for a special occasion – two canine companions are welcome to join in the fun too.

The inside is decorated in eye-catching colours, with plenty of quirky touches to make it feel homely and welcoming. Look out for original features such as exposed wooden beams. There’s a porch area which is ideal for storing everyone’s walking boots – and for brushing off those muddy paws after energetic walks. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for group cooking, and there’s a spacious dining room for enjoying leisurely meals together – good if you’re celebrating a birthday or retirement. Two lounges, both with TVs, give you plenty of options for winding down. In one, you’ll find a wood burner which you can light on chillier evenings. Outside, the dogs will love running around on the lawn while the humans relax on the paved area which is kitted out with garden furniture.

The house is part of the Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve where there’s plenty to keep you amused, be it fishing, walking or simply absorbing the views. Take Scruffy on long walks around the other broads – he’ll adore breathing in all those new scents. When the sea beckons, head to Waxham (12 miles) where you can buy a bag of chips and absorb coastal views – or have a dip in the sea if it’s a warm day. The neighbouring beach of Sea Palling (12.5 miles) is also worth sniffing out.

This place is amazing, a quiet location yet very near Wroxham. The garden tops it all, a jetty over looking the lake, perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks. The kitchen has plenty of plates and cutlery, you will never run out! The heating warms the house very quickly and we made use of the fire in the cosy smaller living room.

We absolutely loved our stay here, it was incredible and we hope to visit again one day. Smooth check in, beautiful space and helpful owner. I left a present there by mistake and they are going to ship it back to me which is very kind.

The location is always going to keep people returning to this property. It was peaceful and having access to private piece of water is special. The house was big enough for us as a family group of 12 although further bath/shower rooms would be an advantage. The beds were very comfortable.

The house is located down a long winding lane and overlooks the lake/broads. Lovely peaceful location and in a good location for visiting various places. House is well equipped and spacious. Comfortable for the 11 of us that stayed. The only let down for us was the cleanliness of the house when we arrived.
