Exuding charm and style throughout, this unique former Coastguards’ cottage in Aldwick offers all the pleasures of a traditional seaside break. Sleeping four people over three bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, it’s the perfect accommodation option for small families or romantic couples that want to get away from it all to enjoy some seaside tranquillity with their pup by their side.

Kick off your day with breakfast at one of the two seating areas in the property’s secluded front courtyard. Or, if you’re feeling energetic, go for a workout in the property’s mini-gym. After a day exploring the Sussex coastline, return to your cottage and treat yourself to a glass of wine in the conservatory, which enjoys the afternoon sun all year round. Cook dinner for your loved ones in the light and bright kitchen, and eat together at the table in the living room/diner. Alternatively, head out to the patio area in the rear garden and dine alfresco. The garden is enclosed, so your pup can run free while you eat. After dinner, soak up what’s left of the evening sun, or head indoors and curl up on a sofa to watch your favourite TV shows. When the day is done there are three lovely bedrooms to choose from upstairs.

Dogs are welcome all year round at Aldwick Beach (100 metres), so grab your pup and enjoy. Alternatively, take your faithful friend for a stroll around the lovely Hotham Park, where there are 9 hectares of historic parkland to explore. The cute cafe there is dog-friendly too. Or let your pup stretch their legs at Bersted Brooks (4 miles). Your pup is sure to love running free through the long grass and reeds there.

Lovely cottage. Very clean and fully equipped. The location was great, near the sea, near shops and near friendly people. When we went for walks, nearly everyone said hello or had a chat. Felt very at home and would definitely go back.

An amazing stay at Coastguard Cottage. The weather was amazing and the fully enclosed back gate was such a sun trap and the dog also loved it. The cottage has everything we needed and was very comfortable. The beach was amazing and our dog loved it too. The long drive was worth it. Weve had such a relaxing break break and would definitely return.

This old coastguard cottage is just a 5 minute walk from the beach, which is stony until you get down near the water. The modern kitchen is very well equipped with a large gas/electric cooker/oven plus washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The lounge area is comfortable and there is more room for relaxation in the conservatory or out on theRead more back patio. The enclosed garden meant we could let our pooch out without worrying about escapes. There's lots to do and see in the area. Hide

A lovely cottage in a very quiet location with the sea and beach five minutes walk along the lane. The cottage is very well equipped and the garden is lovely with sun all day. There is a convenience shop just across the road and also a butcher for fresh meat. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay the week before Christmas. It is great that the beach is just down the road - our dog loved his twice daily walk there. The cottage is spacious. As mentioned in the listing, the stairs are difficult. Both of us fell down the last two steps. It is spiralled at the top and bottom, and the very last step is hard to see in dim lightRead more if you are coming down at night - only the top light can be switched on from upstairs. I missed the last step and twisted my ankle, but not badly. Hide

A comfortable and warm house within easy walking reach of the shingle beach. The back garden is completely enclosed and has real grass so was perfect for us and our dog to enjoy. There's a few pubs within a 20 minute walk from the property and a smaill newsagent across the road. The neighbourhood was very quiet and peaceful.
