This former post office has been lovingly converted into a characterful and charming holiday home ideal for a small family located in the picturesque rural village of Northrepps, part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you are just one mile from the coast. Enjoy a relaxing getaway with your loved ones (including two furry pals) in this traditional cottage close to the sea. There’s so much to do in this lovely part of North Norfolk, and canine companions are more than welcome in many places, including the friendly pub in the village.

Welcoming and cosy, the lounge has comfortable seating gathered around a wood-burner-effect electric fire – the ideal spot for a relaxing evening after a day’s exploring, with canine companions snoring by your feet. This room shares the space with a dining table, while in the kitchen plentiful cupboards and good worktop space will allow you to easily prepare all kinds of holiday meals. Heading upstairs there are three bedrooms, a double and two singles, one of the latter having a pull-out bed to sleep an extra guest if necessary. These rooms share the family bathroom. A table and chairs are provided in the courtyard, so on warmer days you can take your meals alfresco and relax in the fresh country air.

Nearby you’ll find pretty country lanes and clifftop walks, and 3.5 miles will take you to Cromer, where trying some fresh local crab and walking the Victorian pier (dogs allowed) are musts. From Sheringham (8.5 miles) you and your pupster can join the North Norfolk Steam Railway, which travels through stunning scenery to the Georgian town of Holt, where there are a variety of boutique shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and galleries. If you want to experience the long, sandy beach at Mundesley, 6 miles away, turn left and go beyond the beach huts. Keeping a careful eye on the tide, you can walk for miles and long-legged hounds will be able to burn off plenty of energy.

  • Sleeping 4 + 1 (pull out trundle bed in single room)
  • 3 bedrooms – 1 double room and 2 single rooms (1 single room has a trundle pull-out bed sleeping 2 if needed)
  • 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC

  • This property uses storage heaters and electric on-demand heaters
  • TV in the lounge

Nice place, parking was good and straight forward to find, with pub on right side straight after third cottage down on the left, just before pub car park entrance on the right, turn left up pebbled drive way, then turn left, then straight forward, park up to wall keep to right side near round green bins, no problem. Basic, clean, good value.

We had a pleasant stay. The cottage was adequately equipped and the beds particularly comfy. The cottage was an ideal location for visiting the Overstrand beach, which was only a 20-minute walk down the road. It's also only a short drive to Cromer and was ideal during Carnival Week. With plenty of old cottage charm( bit quirky and not fussy) the Old Post Office in Northrepps is in a quiet but great location opposite a pub with live music on a Sunday ( but not too late) and ideal for walks to the beach, cafe, shop and pub at Overstrand or down a country lane to woodland. The cottage needs updating everything is a bit worn. It is very noisy when traffic goes by. Next door pub food is lovely. Nice cottage, but stairs are too steep for us. Not really suitable for elderly people.

We had a good stay in Northrepps. Old Post Office is well positioned to reach all of the local towns within half an hour or so. Pub opposite is really good for eating in or takeaways but gets busy at times. Accommodation is good, beds comfy. Garden is a bit small if you have a couple of dogs with you - but it does get the sun and you could eat out Read morethere. You get used to the parking space - having someone guide you out on to the road is a good idea. A nice relaxing week away Hide

We loved The Old Post Office, equipped with everything we needed. Also loved its close proximity to The Foundry Arms which is a great venue for a meal and a few beers, lovely staff and friendly locals. Everything worked though the water pressure for the shower is a little low, notwithstanding this it got the job done. Would have appreciated some loRead morecal OS maps or leaflets of local walks, particularly as the internet connection for Google maps is very hit and miss. Will happily return. Hide
