Fancy a holiday where you can start each day with a long, doggie-pleasing walk along a sandy beach? This charming cottage in pretty Bacton is right on the Norfolk seafront, where the children can play happily with their buckets and spades while the dog digs holes in the sand. It’s a stone’s throw from a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (2.5 miles) and the stunning Norfolk Broads (6 miles) for taking group boat trips. The house sleeps four and up to one dog, so it’s ideal for a family or small group of friends.
This semi-detached property, over two centuries old, is covered with flint which gives it a distinctive look. Inside, the cosy lounge complete with warming wood burner awaits - no prizes for guessing which spot the dog will choose for her evening naps! The kitchen has a country-cottage feel, with wooden units and a round table in the middle where you can sit down to casual breakfasts. Outside there’s an enclosed patio which is safe to let the dog run free in. You’ll find a BBQ for cooking up warm weather feasts plus outside furniture so you can pull up a chair and eat in the fresh air.
You’ll find shops for picking up supplies plus a dog-welcoming pub within 0.5 miles of the property. Bacton Wood (3 miles), a peaceful combination of mixed woodland, conifer plantations and open spaces, is a great spot for trying out the new frisbee. Nearby Paston (2.5 miles) is your gateway to the Norfolk Coast, full of gorgeous coastal marshes and cliffs that your pet will love sniffing out. The Victorian seaside resort of Cromer (11 miles) is a great op-paw-tunity for a day out. Head to its pier, the town’s showpiece, and look for crabs on the sand below.
