Situated in the picturesque village of Stanhoe, overlooking the pretty duckpond in the village centre, this homely cottage makes a lovely base from which to explore the North Norfolk coastline and the surrounding countryside.

It is hard to imagine a more attractive village location than that of this cottage, with the garden gate opening almost directly onto the banks of the village pond. Views over the pond can be enjoyed from the garden at the front of the cottage where garden furniture allows you to enjoy al fresco drinks on sunny days. Once inside the cottage you will be able to make yourselves at home in the cosy lounge with its open fire, comfy seating, and beamed ceiling. Steep cottage-style stairs with some reduced head height lead to the bedrooms on the first floor, with the twin bedroom being accessed via the double. The bathroom, meanwhile, is situated on the ground floor and offers a shower over bath and WC.

Start your day with a stroll around the duck pond with your canine companions by your side, before you pop back to the cottage for breakfast prior to heading out for the day. There are many choices when it comes to day trips in the local area, ranging from walks around the coastal nature reserves at Scolt Head (5.5 miles) and Holme Dunes (8.5 miles), leisurely days at the beach on the beautiful sands of Holkham Bay (9 miles) where your dogs will be as welcome as you, or visiting the royal estate at Sandringham (10.5 miles). At the end of the day, it is just a short stroll of fewer than 200 metres to the village’s fabulous gastropub which serves up a menu of locally-sourced dishes and offers an extensive wine list.

The cottage is in an idyllic location; we thoroughly enjoyed it's peace, feeding the ducks every day, and fabulous walks in the area. It's cute and quirky and mind your head on the stairs.
