Relax and recharge at this spacious cottage in central Southwold where your pup can sniff to their heart’s content in the enclosed courtyard and doze in front of the wood burner after a fun day on the beach. It’s ideal for friends or family looking for a homely base for a fun seaside holiday on the stunning Suffolk coast.

This home-from-home has been furnished with comfort in mind with attractive interiors and a playful nautical theme in many of the rooms. The spacious kitchen/diner has lots of natural light, a cool American-style fridge/freezer and a dining table for four. There’s plenty of space in the living room too. Curl up on the comfy sofas with a good book or watch the TV as your hound dreams of exciting adventures next to the wood burner. The contemporary bathroom is also on the ground floor. Upstairs you’ll find the two bedrooms, a charming king with an en-suite WC, and a pretty twin room with cheery seaside prints. Heading outside, your dog can explore as you sit in the sunshine in the fenced courtyard with spaces to relax with a cuppa and dine alfresco.

The cottage is centrally placed with pubs and shops just 200 metres away and the beach 500 metres from the house. Grab the lead and wander along the beach hut-lined promenade. Wander along the pier, take a tour of the town’s lighthouse, or pick up some fresh fish for tea. You can explore this part of the coast on foot or by bike on the footpaths and trails nearby, including on Southwold Common on the outskirts of the town. Head along the Suffolk Coast Path with your dog in either direction as it wends its way through Suffolk’s beautiful heaths, wetlands, towns, and villages.

The location was ideal and only a short walk from the main shopping area and the beach. Gulls Nest provided everything needed to ensure we had a comfortable base in Southwold. The modern kitchen had every appliance you could possibly need including a washing machine and dishwasher. The whole cottage was clean and was like home from home with nice Read moretouches such as ornaments and pictures. There was also a lovely welcome pack. Washing up liquid, hand soap and loo rolls were also included which was really helpful. An off road parking space and a small courtyard with table and chairs was an added bonus. We had our little dog with us and there are plenty of places to walk. The area is very dog friendly and most cafes and some shops allowed dogs inside. The countryside in Suffolk is beautiful and we found plenty to do in Southwold and also within driving distance. Overall, we had a lovely time and would recommend both the property and area. Hide

Overall the property was nice, excellent location. However, there were a couple of issues. A more thorough deep clean would be useful as there were several cobwebs, dirt under tables/sofas etc. The main issue is that the lounge smelt of wet dog. We appreciate that its dog friendly but it wasnt pleasant and we had to remove the rug, air out the roomRead more etc. Overall good, just a couple of issues. Hide

All excellent two small things the patio area had a dirty mat just chucked outside and area could have been weeded and better kept to much improve the outside seating Also a spare loo roll would be helpful!!
