White Horse Cottage
Tucked away in a tranquil spot near the cobbles of Whitby’s Church Street, just a stick’s throw from the historic Old Town and its romantic atmosphere, this bolthole boasts a south-facing garden and sea views that’ll keep everyone’s tails wagging. Elegant coastal style abounds throughout creating a cosy, welcoming space for four guests and their canine companion to enjoy a relaxing escape.
After the day’s adventure, let your waggy-tailed pal lead you through the front door and into the charming and quaint living room – hunker down on either of the comfy sofas and catch your favourite programme on the Smart TV while your pup curls up in front of the inviting gas fire. Lead the way through to the rear of the cottage to whip up a hearty meal in the well-equipped kitchen/diner and enjoy a family meal around the dining table with your pup right beside you. The spacious family bathroom upstairs makes light work of cleaning sandy paws. You’ll find two comfortable and calming bedrooms across the first and second floors to call your own and let sleeping dogs lie. Unleash your four-legged friend into the beautiful south-facing patio where little paws can soak up the last of the day’s sun as you enjoy dining alfresco.
With rich connections to Captain Cook and Bram Stoker, Whitby’s quirky narrow streets are filled with independent shops and a bustling harbour overlooked by the striking Gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey, and offer plenty of winding paths for you to explore with your four-pawed third wheel. Grab the lead and take on the challenge of the 199 Whitby Abbey steps, beginning less than half a mile away, and you’ll be rewarded with some spectacular views of Whitby from the top. Your pup will go barking mad bounding through the waves and feeling the golden sand between their paws along the east side of Whitby Beach, half a mile from the cottage.
