Property code: OC-92789

With space to welcome multi-generational families or friends celebrating a special occasion, this house in Cumbria’s spectacular Lyth Valley offers nine en-suite bedrooms, wonderful country views and spacious grounds which your canine companions will love.

This unique holiday property offers flexible space for everyone. Get together in the ground-floor bar area (bring your own drinks!) and dine at the restaurant-style tables before settling down for the evening at one of the seating areas - perhaps by the ornamental fireplace, or near the windows to admire the stunning views. Cooks will love experimenting in the commercial kitchen, or you may decide to forego the effort entirely and hire a caterer. Of the nine bedrooms, three are dog-friendly and on the lower-ground floor, accessed via external stone steps. The remaining six bedrooms (of which two also have sofa beds) are on the first floor. All the bedrooms have Smart TVs, tea- and coffee-making facilities and robes, plus en-suites - either a shower room or a bathroom with a separate bath and rainfall shower. You’re also spoilt for choice in terms of outside space:, enjoy the hot tub, dine al fresco on the balcony or the patio, or explore the extensive grounds (reached via the stone steps) where hounds and children alike can run off their excess energy.

This timeless pastoral area, famed for its damsons, offers stunning landscapes to explore as well as picturesque villages and regular festivals and events. The house is just 6 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere, which offers a bustling selection of pubs, shops and places to eat, as well as boat trips and water sports. The house is also only 6.5 miles from the National Trust’s Sizergh, where you can explore the 1,600-acre estate with your furry friends.

  • 9 bedrooms – 1 super-king-size, 6 king-size, 1 double, and 1 flexible family room with king bed and 2 sofa beds (The Herdwick, The Pheasant and The Fox are all located to the outside on the lower ground floor)

A group of us went for a hen party, the house is beautiful and every room is huge. The views and wildlife around are incredible. Hot tub massively appreciated. Bar a lot of fun. Really quiet location. Phil, the caretaker, was really helpful throughout.

As the property is up for sale it has clearly not been maintained and needs work particularly in the downstairs area. Quite run down in many areas and needs money spent to bring the property up to an acceptable level.

Great place to stay for large groups. Bedrooms are spacious and comfy. Downstairs space is excellent, plenty of room and open plan. Outdoor balcony is good with amazing views. No neighbours and not overlooked. We made use of the fully equiped kitchen which was great. The hosts are friendly and helpful, gave us recommendations of local restaurants aRead morend pubs, easy to contact, but left us to it otherwise. Hide

We had a really enjoyable stay at the Lyth country house. It was very spacious and in a lovely location. The large dining and bar area was perfect for socialising in the evenings.

A former country inn converted into self-catering accommodation. Splendid views and sufficient rooms for a management team to have comfortable facilities during a workshop. A few items needed attention on arrival, some of which the caretaker was able to fix and others not.
