Im going to start with the bad as it doesnt reflect the cottage in any way. But I feel someone needs to write it so others are in the know. Check the time of year you go due to the millions of midges. They are relentless and its like a million pins sticking in you. You cant have the conservatory door open when its hot, if you step outside for jusRead moret a moment you are covered in them and they will be in the house and covered in bites. Im diabetic and we had to cut our holiday short as it was so bad and my bites have not healed yet. Now as for the cottage and location, it is absolutely fantastic and worth a visit(out of midge season) is the only time we will return. Beautiful cottage and loved watching the red squirrel and birds on the feeders. Definitely bring food for them, you wont regret it. There are some lovely walks around the area, and if you get a chance definitely go out for lunch at the oyster catcher, its 15 mins away and the fish and chips are amazing. The cottage is cosy and the beds very comfy, in no way can I fault this cottage its absolutely stunning, the garden for the dogs is fantastic but the midges were biting the dogs and they were rolling on the floor trying to stop the bites. The cottage is a 10/10 simply beautiful, :) it is just a shame we came home 4 days early so didnt get to enjoy it fully. :( Hide

3rd time here. Red squirrel each morning by your back door, woodpeckers, deer in the garden, views of the loch, a 30 minute walk to a deserted beach- what more can you want! Cottage is cosy and warm, the local area great for long walks. Just be aware that WiFi is slow if thats important.

Very large garden but not fully enclosed. Bird feeders where never empty. Two red squirrels also came to feeders every day.

Lovely, rustic cottage in wonderful surroundings (wonderful!). We've been coming to Scotland for many years, and the best recommendation we can give is...we will be back! We saw roe deer, buzzards, rabbits, wagtails, oyster catchers, plovers, sandpipers, seals, cormorants - we even took some night vision goggles to watch deer in the garden after Read moredark. Great week, and loved the privacy of being at the end of your own road - we barely saw anyone else, and the owner & manager were great. Hide

This cottage is great and in truly amazing location with fabolous views. My two dogs loved the massive garden and all the fun walks not far from cottage. Only aspect to be aware of that this is not fully enclosed, the opening to the river and wood area is not gated, though dogs loved that area too so not too bad. If you have smaller dogs like I do Read morethough, then they can get under gates as well so may need to be cautious. Still it's a fantastic place and dogs will love it, would go back for sure Hide

We had a great week staying at Lilybank Cottage, it was very clean, comfy and well equipped. We managed to get out and about for walks and even managed a trip over to Tarbet on the ferry. The walk to the beach from the cottage was great and took about 40 minutes. Our two dogs loved exploring the huge garden but the only thing is it isnt fully encloRead moresed as they can get down the steps to the river and into the wooded area which takes you to the beach. Amazing location, so quiet and peaceful. Pictures don't really do it justice, it's spacious, gardens huge, nice walk to the beach which takes about 20 mins but only for fit and able. Cottage had everything we needed, as a group of six adults and two dogs we were all very happy. Bed lined super crisp and clean.
