This attractive cottage is situated in the Eden Valley village of Gamblesby, on the western edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The whole area is absolutely perfect for those who enjoy getting out and about in the great outdoors with their dog.

A simply gorgeous cottage, offering stylish and spacious accommodation for six guests, this property is an attractive blend of thoughtfully-preserved original details and sympathetically updated features. The lounge is a wonderfully cosy room with a warming wood burner in the fireplace, perfect for Rover to curl up in front of while you relax on the sofa and armchairs. In the spacious kitchen, you will have a choice of a conventional oven or the traditional Range, while meals can be enjoyed in the elegant dining room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a double and two twins, one of which comes with the added bonus of a table football set. The outside space is equally as attractive as the interior of the property, with a pretty walled garden to the rear of the cottage, offering a patio where you can catch some rays while your four-pawed pals run around the lawn.

Situated in what must be one of the most picturesque regions of Britain, the property is both right on the edge of the Pennines and only 13 miles from the Lake District. Dogs can take their owners on walks through many miles of scenic countryside across hills and along the banks of Ullswater. Alston, 10.5 miles away, provides easy access onto the Pennine Way, one of the most popular long-distance footpaths in the country. There are, of course, plenty of other outdoor pursuits on offer locally too, from climbing to pony trekking, sailing to ghyll scrambling.

A very pretty & cosy cottage in a lovely village full of character. On the whole was well equipped & well presented for guests. An upstairs shower as well would be a really useful addition & also an extra log supply. Unfortunately the weather wasnt great with the arrival of Storm Amy for 2 out of the 5 days we stayed but that couldnt be helped. SomRead moree nice dog walks from the village & The Village Bakery at Melmerby does a super cooked breakfast. Hide

Comfortable, with good sized rooms, in a quiet farming village. We were three generations and all enjoyed it, including the table football.

This is a charming home in a peaceful and pleasant setting. Fluffy towels, lots of hot water, a well appointed kitchen and lots of comfy seating in the sitting room. Thank you for a lovely stay. I recommend buying eggs from the neighbours!

We loved this property- cosy but enough room for a family of five not to be on top of each other. Excellent location to avoid crazy Lake District crowds whilst being close enough to drive there for walks and adventures. Lots of lovely cycling and walking from the door. Well equipped kitchen ( so many properties dont give adequate sharp knives/ utenRead moresils so we really appreciate it being done properly). An incredibly peaceful village in a beautiful part of the country. Hide
