Situated in the beautiful western part of the Lake District National Park, in Eskdale valley, is this spacious, one-bedroom property. It’s the perfect romantic getaway for couples and their canine companion, with stunning walks straight from the front door.

Inside, the decor is light and airy. On the ground floor, the kitchen has every modern appliance you’ll need to create easy meals and overlooks a neat dining table where you can linger over a bite to eat while soaking up the rolling mountainside views. From here, stairs lead to the first floor where the lounge is located. Wood-panelled flooring, whitewashed walls, and beautiful sash windows create a soothing atmosphere and it won’t be long before you’re relaxing on the plump sofa, gazing at the valley views with your pet at your feet. On chillier days, light the wood burner and snuggle up with a film. Leading off from the lounge is the super-king-size bedroom. Generously sized it features huge windows that allow you to watch the sunrise over the valley from the comfort of your bed. There’s also a neat bathroom on this floor. Back on the ground floor, the outdoor setting will get tails wagging. The garden is located across the road and is fully enclosed, so your four-legged friend can roam free on the lawn while you relax on the patio with a chilled drink and watch the deer and hares in the neighbouring fields.

The charming village of Eskdale Green is a pleasant 1-mile walk from the property and features a local shop and dog-friendly pub. For a long hike in nature, head 9 miles to Scafell Pike and enjoy magnificent views from the summit. For a less arduous walk, head 8 miles to Drigg Beach. Stroll along the shore and let your pup run free on the sand and in the dunes.

A lovely cottage - HUGE lovely sitting room and bedroom - (very unusual find for a one bedroom cottage). Its on the doorstep of beautiful walks and a pub a very short distance away. Stunning location. The most comfortable bed we've slept in ever - really! Beautifully clean and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Very clean - first time we haven't felt a need to wash crockery and cutlery prior to use! Hosts could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Highlight of our week was seeing the red squirrels, even in the garden. The location is quite remote from lake district popular spots but the peace and quiet suited us.
