Take the lead with a holiday to remember at this traditional Scottish stone village in Kingussie. With ample space for up to seven guests and one loyal canine companion, you can relish the opportunity for pleasure and play from this country retreat in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Surrounded by one of the best natural playgrounds in Europe, both two and four-legged members of your family will have equal fun heading out each day to explore and returning each evening to relax in front of the fire, perhaps accompanied by a glass of the finest Scottish whisky (for you) and a chunky bone to gnaw on (for your dog!).

A spacious self-catering cottage, you will find everything you could need and more for a holiday to remember. With high ceilings, bay windows and tasteful wooden finishings, this Victorian-era property has a refined edge softened with cosy furnishings and soothing tones. Particularly inviting, the sitting room is complete with an open fire – the perfect place to bask in the warmth of the glow after a long day hiking and indulge your pup in some much-deserved belly rubs. For gathering the family together, the attractive, contemporary kitchen has a sizeable breakfast island whilst a formal dining room lends a heightened sense of ceremony to meals. Upstairs, you will find the four bedrooms.

Benefiting from an enclosed garden, you have one acre of grounds to explore at the property itself whilst further afield the rise and fall of the landscape is shaped by woodland and hills, rivers and mountains. Get back in touch with nature, your four-legged friend in the lead, and explore to your heart's content. When you are ready to touch base, the town of Kingussie hosts a wide variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes ready to welcome you.

Brier Grove was a lovely peaceful retreat for us to get our dogs away from fireworks. We found the house warm and comfortable and we were sorry to leaving after our week. With so many nice walks on our doorstep, it was the perfect escape. We look forward to visiting again.

The house is in a beautiful area with lots of lovely walks. So much to do and see in the area and a lovely big garden. The house was comfortable and had what we needed.

A lovely period property with lots of character. Great enclosed garden for the dogs to run around in. Excellently situated for local amenities in Kingussie, but nice and quiet location.

We arrived at eight in the evening, the house was very cold and we didn't know how to programme the heating. However, discovered the +button on the box the following morning, and there was ample heating thereafter. The trees and the garden surrounding the house are beautiful. We liked the genuine old furniture and light fittings and wouldn't want tRead moreo change any of that. The building has an honest although a little neglected feel about it. Hide

Beautiful location, a short walk from some lovely woods. The garden is large and enclosed although the stone wall is a little low at the side so our large dog had to be watched that he didn't jump over! It was a chilly week but we found the house nice and warm. The beds and sofas were comfortable. Some of the furniture upstairs was looking rather tRead moreired but was perfectly functionable. Nice bathrooms, great showers. V quick and helpful response from rental company for a couple of minor issues. Hide
