The traditional stone cottage is located within the picturesque Lake District countryside just 2 miles from bustling Windermere, making it a prime location for a Cumbrian getaway with your furry friend. There’s so much to do together nearby, whether you’re kayaking on the water, picnicking on the lakeside, or enjoying a peaceful round of golf at the course 500 metres from your home. With space for six over three bedrooms, this beautifully refurbished home is wonderful for a family holiday or trip among nature-loving friends.

A white picture-postcard exterior houses an elegant interior, featuring country-style decor, quality furniture and attractive ceiling beams. You’ll enter through the back, into the heart of the home – the kitchen/diner, which has lovely oak floors and a large table in the middle for leisurely dining. The spacious living room has a striking monochrome colour scheme and offers ample seating along with a crackling wood burner set in a slate surround. Your pet will love snoozing in the heat while you watch TV with a glass of wine in hand. All the bedrooms offer serene views of the surrounding landscape, these include two king-size rooms with en-suite shower rooms, and two cosy singles that benefit from the family bathroom. Outside, the private garden is a true haven for dogs, with lawns, mature planting trees, and flowers. Humans will love kicking back on the split-level garden patio, equipped with dining furniture, a BBQ, and a bench.

In Bowness-on-Windermere, you’ll find an excellent selection of dog-friendly shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Enjoy tail-waggingly good walks along The Dales Way, which starts in Windermere, or take your eager pet up to local viewpoints like Orrest Head (2.5 miles). For the most ambitious hikers amongst you, Scafell Pike (14 miles), England’s highest mountain, is a must-see.

The cottage itself is lovely; some of the kitchen equipment could do with replacing. Unfortunately the cottage was attached to another smaller cottage and was in a small industrial complex which meant there was more traffic going past than we expected disturbing our dog. Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Good position with a pleasant walk down to Bowness for plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants. We had a very wet week so couldn't really use the garden but it looked a good size and very private. Overall enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. So peaceful - could only hear owls at night! Lovely walks around the estate and we saw lots of wildlife. Only a 3 mile drive from Windermere. Pretty garden and we werent overlooked. Enjoyed sitting out in good weather and having a bbq and being cosy with the log burner in the lounge on cooler evenings. We loved our stay at Cleabarrow Farmhouse. Lovely authentic property with beautiful gardens in rural setting. Property was well equipped. Great base for walkers and we loved being a short drive to Bowness. Although well signed, watch out for the lower door frames! A lovely place to stay.

This was a fantastic cottage for 6 people wanting a southern Lakes getaway. Pleasant surroundings, 6min drive to Bowness-on-Windermere. Perfect for our long weekend for the Fred Whitton weekend!

This is a wonderful cottage - peaceful, beautiful location and super close to Bowness in Windermere and Windermere. Walks right on your doorstep and the cottage has pretty much every utensil you could ever need. A beautiful garden that my dog absolutely loved exploring!

This is a beautiful, well provisioned, dog friendly cottage, maintained to a very high standard. It has a generous mature garden, and offers a variety of local walks with stunning views of the lake and surrounding countryside. Excellent shops, bars and restaurants are 10 mins drive or 40 min walk away. Highly recommended. Hope to return next year.

Inside the cottage is beautiful with great furniture, comfortable beds and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Well equipped kitchen and fab cooker/fridge!
