Set in the heart of a beautiful conservation village, this gorgeous stone-built cottage is the perfect base for friends and family, alongside their four-legged companion, to explore the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and the coast. Discover pretty villages and bustling market towns, visit historic castles and stately homes and take a blow-through on the beach, all within easy reach of this fabulous location.

Venture over the threshold of this charming cottage into the bright and airy open-plan living space with plenty of room for the whole family, including the furry ones. In the lounge, the wall-to-wall sliding windows provide lovely views of the pretty garden and allow plenty of natural light to flood in. Return from a day exploring the area to relax together on comfortable sofas with the wood burner sure to be hogged by the hounds. Whipping up a delicious meal will be a breeze in the well-equipped, contemporary kitchen, and sit together at the farmhouse-style table for sociable dinners. Alternatively, choose to dine al-fresco using the cottage’s charcoal BBQ whilst Rover sniffs around the fully enclosed lawn. At the end of the day, three expertly designed bedrooms await, skillfully decorated with a blend of modern and traditional colours and furnishings. A king-size bedroom can be found on the ground floor, with another on the first floor alongside a cosy twin room.

Enjoy views across the village green, and there is a lovely dog-friendly pub is just 100 metres away. Nearby, Norham is 5 miles east and has a butcher, fishing tackle shop, and fantastic fishing on the picturesque River Tweed. The market town of Kelso (12 miles) is home to an array of independent retailers and the wonderful Floors Castle, where pups on leads are welcome to tour the grounds and gardens. Take extended walkies around Paxton Estate and Manderston House, both within 10 miles or plan a day trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed (12 miles), the most Northerly town in England, which is famous for its Elizabethan walls, iconic bridges, and pretty beaches. Buy freshly caught fish at Eyemouth Harbour (15.7 miles), walk the cliffs at St Abbs (16 miles) or relax on sandy Coldingham Beach (16 miles), which allows dogs year-round but on the lead during summer months.

Absolutely lovely cottage. Equipped to a very high standard, comfortable beds, very warm and cosy. Lovely paintings and decorative touches added to the charm of the cottage. All logs and kindling supplied for our entire stay. Most holiday cottages supply only a starter amount. Pets were beautifully catered for with rugs, treats and towels. This cottage was absolutely lovely. It had every comfort and the welcome pack was exceptional ! Theres so much room to relax and very comfort has been thought about. The garden is totally safe for dogs and very private and quiet. I would recommend this really super cottage

Beautiful cottage, incredibly well-appointed. We arrived to a wonderful welcome basket and amazing extra touches of real coffee, bacon and eggs, games for children and adults and even pooh bags and treats for our dog. Well appointed cottage for both adults and families. Super comfortable beds and linen. Kitchen was extremely well equipped...a real home from home. Log burner is a great addtion for chillier nights. Space for 2 cars at front of property. Pub nearby serves lovely food and staff are very attentive. Unfortunately there is no shop in village so had to Read moredrive to Duns or Kelso, around 6 miles, for newspaper/groceries. Overall a lovely cottage to stay in and would definitely recommend. Hide

A lovely, spacious cottage with a large gaden area. The owners have taken the trouble to provide lots of thoughtful extras including a generous welcome package. Although there were no children in our party, there are lots of additional items to keep them entertained. We have stayed in many holiday homes and Green Cottage would definitely be one we Read morewill return to. Green cottage was fabulous. Everything was top quality. The welcome basket was best we have ever received. It was very well equipped with lots of lovely extra touches. Very comfortable beds. Loved the cottage, great location for us to explore the east side of the Borders. We had a dog and there was a walk right next to the cottage for early mornings and evenings. The one thing to note is the only bathroom upstairs is en-suite in the double room and so, if you are in the twin bedded room, you either have to go through or go downstairs tRead moreo the Jack and Jill bathroom. Green Cottage has to be the most beautiful, well equipped holiday cottage we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Lovely cottage, my husband and I had a really nice time with my 90 year old Mum and our dog. So cozy and comfortable. All we needed and ground floor ensuite was perfect room for Mum. Upstairs is a bit tight hight wise but two lovely rooms . Would happily go back for another trip to the borders.
