Enjoy watching Dolly the dachshund doze in front of the wood burner or the open fire after exciting Lakeland walks together. This three-bedroom Edwardian cottage at Far Sawrey, 8 miles from Ambleside, sleeps five guests and is perfect for pups. As well as its well-proportioned, friendly accommodation, it comes with very large lawned gardens.
Climb a few steps to make your way inside at the back of the cottage. Emerge in a bright, welcoming, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner that will be at the heart of your Cumbrian stay. Watch Dolly making herself at home while you start preparing the next meal in the modern kitchen. Top up her food and water bowls here, then set the table so the people in your party can enjoy their feast. Light the wood burner in the lounge so Dolly can warm her soft paws while you leaf through a newspaper or watch the Smart TV. Double glass doors open into a snug where you can read beside the open fire. There is also a shower room downstairs. Lead Dolly to her bed, then make your way up to the first floor, where your enticing bedrooms await. You are assured a superb night’s sleep in the king-size, single or twin room, which can also be arranged as a super-king-size by prior request. The family bathroom is also up here. See Dolly have the time of her life with her doggy toys out in the expansive garden. Dine out here too as often as the weather permits. There is off-road parking for two cars.
Walk just 1 mile together down to the Claife Viewing Station beside Windermere. Wander along the shores of the lake together. Dogs are also welcome to accompany you in the garden at Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s former home, 0.5 miles from the cottage.
