Situated on a rural farm in the Scottish Highlands, this quirky wooden lodge with stylish and contemporary interiors is perfect for a family with two canine companions who are seeking a tranquil getaway in nature. Wake up to sea views and stroll along the cliff tops while staying in this unique property. Blow away the cobwebs on long scenic hikes, discover quaint villages and visit the nearby sandy beaches.

Enter the lodge through the glass doors and make yourself at home in this bright and well-organised open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Benefitting from the far-reaching sea view through the glass windows and doors is the lounge area, where you can put your feet up on the plush ‘L’-shaped sofa. Muster up a home cooked meal in the sleek contemporary kitchen with dark cabinets, wooden surface tops and a breakfast bar. There are two bedrooms in the lodge – a king-size and twin room, both are finished to a high standard. The shower room boasts an anti-mist mirror and automatic lighting. Outside is a wooden decking with furniture, a fire pit and a hot tub.

It’ll be hard to tear yourself away from the lodge, but it will be worth it for the scenic hiking trails along the cliffs and through the Aldie Burn forest (9 miles). For a day playing in the sand and swimming in the sea, head to Balintore beach (7 miles). Bring your binoculars to RSPB Nigg Bay (3 miles) for wildlife watching in the mudflats and salt marshes. Travel by ferry to the town of Cromarty (3 miles) and visit the museum before stopping for a bite to eat at the cafe or bakery.

We got back on Friday from a weeks stay here and wow just wow. Firstly the views from the pod was just breathtaking, our two children loved watching for dolphins daily and the ferrys and especially loved the hot tub. Will definitely be booking to come back, lots of lovely local beaches and woodland walks which our black lab loved. The pod was perfeRead morect and had everything you could need, definitely MORE than 5* accommodation. Hide

Our stay at Castlecraig Clifftops was delightful. The cabin was cosy and well-equipped. It was wonderful to have the hot tub and we watched many beautiful sunrises over the water. Such a bonus to have two dolphin sightings from our cabin. Our hosts were friendly, available if we needed them but were not intrusive. We would love to come back, it wasRead more very hard to leave! Cottage was excellent. Met our expectations and more, the view from the cottage is absolutely stunning. Ideal for a family with two children up to early teenage years. Would say a little small in the twin room for older children but still fabulous. Overall, very clean, very restful/relaxing everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
