After dinner, take a seat in the hot tub and soak up the views over the private estate, or make your way in to the lounge to kick back and relax in front of the glowing wood burner while your pups stretch out and snooze by your feet. Pack up a picnic and take your dogs for a stroll at Penrith Castle (5 miles), a 14th-century gem that sits by the River Eamont. Afterwards, treat yourself to a pint in one of the town’s dog-friendly pubs. Alternatively, head to Pooley Bridge (8 miles) and hop on one of the famous Ullswater Steamers, which have been sailing the lake for over 160 years. Your pups are welcome on board.
