Satisfy Fido’s thirst for adventure and your love of whisky with a stay in this cosy cottage nestled at the heart of the Speyside Valley. Once used as a home for workers, the property sleeps four humans and two hounds in comfort. It’s also handily located to access the Malt Whisky Trail, a 10-mile route with 15 unique distilleries to enjoy. Put your nose to the air and sniff out exciting walks along the spectacular Moray Firth coastline, returning to the crackling warmth of a crackling wood burner.

This traditional bolthole has everything you would expect from a period cottage including a stone exterior, warm fires, and a pretty country-cottage style garden. Natural light pours in through the windows on crisp winter days whilst you relax in the lounge with a warming brew. Your canine companion has two wood burners to choose from after long walks through the countryside, and the kitchen is perfectly equipped for preparing those hearty meals you’ve been craving. Upstairs, two comfortable bedrooms provide a welcome sanctuary for weary paws, and there is a cheerful bathroom complete with an irresistible bath and separate shower. Outside, the garden is perfect for stretching all four limbs and relaxing with a wee dram.

The River Spey offers beautiful riverside walks and salmon fishing, or you can hop in the car and take the 3-mile drive to Aberlour to soak up some local history and pick up a few essentials. The Moray Firth Coastline is well worth the 20.5-mile drive, so bring your walking boots and prepare to spot dolphins, seals and rare birds as you stroll along the Speyside Way. Spey Bay Beach is a stunning stretch of shingle that’s dog-friendly all year round, so you can treat your sea dog to a splash in the waves.

A fabulously cosy cottage. Spotlessly clean with a wonderful welcome pack that we enjoyed thoroughly. Kitchen kitted out perfectly. Not a thing we required that we couldn't find. Interaction with hosts was helpful and all household instructions clear and concise. A perfect base to explore Speyside.
