This homely countryside bolthole with exceptional attention to detail, offers a fantastic rural location for you and your wet-nosed pal to explore some superb unique walks from the front door. Nestled on the edge of Lake Bassenthwaite, the pretty hamlet of Dubwath gives you a real taste of life in a Cumbrian village.

Entering the reverse-style property, you’re enveloped into the effortlessly cosy atmosphere, with the neutral palette of the downstairs bedroom setting the calming tone of the whole property – and there’s plenty of space for your pup’s bed beside the large picture window. The en-suite shower room makes cleaning muddy paws as easy as whipping up their breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen upstairs. Pack your pup’s favourite blanket and let them doze beside you whilst you catch the latest blockbuster on the Smart TV in the open-plan lounge/dining room upstairs. Lead the way back downstairs and let your wet-nosed pal sniff out the enclosed garden, with a large lawn perfect for exercising keen paws after enjoying dining alfresco on the patio area.

Discover some brilliant bike tracks in Whinlatter Forest 8 miles away, where you can explore on two wheels if your four-pawed pal can keep up. Your canine companion will go barking mad for the many fabulous walks from the front door; join the Sale Fell walk from the cottage to pass the ruins of the old Keswick church at the back of the fell, opposite the scenic Dubwath Silver Meadows nature reserve and through a woodland and wildflower meadow. Refuel with your pup at your side after a long walkies in a restored railway station at Bassenthwaite Lake Station, less than half a mile away.

We had a lovely week, Pete was friendly and helpful, it's a great location for enjoying the western Lakes and the bed was big and very comfortable and it was really quiet at night. The only real downside for us was the kitchen and fridge were too small as we had a supermarket delivery as we don't enjoy grocery shopping but do enjoy cooking all ourRead more own meals. We had to kneel on the floor to find things in the fridge and stop them falling out because of a sliding shelf arrangement! Would recommend only for someone not planning to do much cooking Hide

Lovely comfortable cottage and an amazingly big bed. Welcome package on arrival was a lovely touch and the cottage was equipped with everything you needed. Shower was powerful and hot although a touch on the small size for anyone tall.

A lovely cottage in a great location for visiting the Lakes. Hosts are very friendly and made us feel really welcome. There are many fine walks in the area. The Pheasant Inn is within walking distance and there are other dog friendly places a short drive away

A really enjoyable stay at Link Cottage, which was comfortable and had all the amenities required for a week away from home with our two dogs. The location is ideal to visit many of the lakes and our hosts Pete and Katie were always available but never intrusive. A really great weeks holiday.

We have just had a lovely week in the upside down cottage. All of the facilities were delightful and we will gladly return. The location offers easy access to Keswick, Cockermouth and the surrounding area with a multitude of activities and places to eat. Peter and Katie were first rate hosts with a wealth of local knowledge to share.
