Property code: OC-41827

This unique lodge, situated in the picturesque village of Ashton-under-Hill, is perfect for couples or small families looking to explore the Cotswolds – with up to two four-legged friends, of course! Sleeping four across two cosy and welcoming bedrooms, with plenty of space for pups to relax, this quirky property is an opportunity to experience country life in style. The owners have thought of your loyal hounds, providing dog biscuits and dedicated bowls for them, so they can enjoy some creature comforts, too. Walk out of the door directly onto Bredon Hill  for some fantastic views and walks that the dogs will love. The secluded setting of the property means you have miles and miles of deserted footpaths and bridleways from the door.

The property, which is located on the owners’ grounds with shared outside space, has a contemporary style mixed with quaint country features. The open-plan living area is fresh and bright with beautiful apex ceilings, and is the ideal spot for weary legs to return and curl up in front of the wood burner, your canine by your feet. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with homely touches and have plenty of light; wake up feeling refreshed and head down to the enclosed decked area with your breakfast and coffee, watching the morning unfold over the hills.

If you don’t fancy going too far for an evening tipple, the local pub is just under a mile’s walk away and welcomes dogs to come and sit by their open fires and there is a shop within the village. If you want to make a day of it, sample ales at the many pubs in Stratford-upon-Avon (21 miles), wandering the streets where Shakespeare was born. Children will also love the interactive elements in the Shakespeare’s Birthplace Museum. Closer to home, the Broadway Tower Country Park offers some fantastic walks for both humans and canines, while the tower provides superb panoramic views across the Cotswolds. Please note the garden is shared with the owners property.

A fabulous little cottage in a beautiful location. Spotlessly clean, with every comfort taken care of. The main living area is compact, but really well laid out and plenty big enough for 4. A great place to explore the quieter side of the Cotswolds. Fabulous walking from the door up onto Bredon Hill. Super little cottage, great location for visiting the area, great local walks and good value for money. The stairs are steep and quite narrow so definitely not suitable for those with mobility issues or very young children. We were also quite cautious of our dog going up and down the stairs so anyone with a dog needs to take this into considerationRead more if booking this cottage. Overall we had a lovely break and would recommend booking this property if you are thinking of visiting the Cotswolds. Hide

David and Faye really made the lodge feel like a home from home. There was everything we needed and David came to help us with the log burner as we hadn't used one before. The lodge was clean, cosy and having two bathrooms was great! It was a perfect relaxing break we needed and the fact they decorated it for Christmas made it even more special.

Excellent spotless holiday home for humans in a lovely setting but being built on a hill means there are some problematic steps both inside and outside the property. A delightful quirky little cottage situated up a hill, via a dirt-track, so you are really in the countryside and amongst nature! Hence it's an extremely quiet and relaxing place to stay.
