Nestled in a quiet, residential area in the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, this charming cottage welcomes up to four guests and one happy hound. An ideal choice for keen walkers and nature lovers, it’s perfectly placed for dipping into both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District national parks. After adventurous days traversing picturesque countryside and exploring quaint towns, this delightful cottage offers ample space for socialising and snoozing in comfort.

Put your best paw forward as you step into this picture-perfect cottage, to find a warm and deceptively spacious interior. Two small steps lead into and out of the bungalow, but aside from that it’s all on one level. With period-style furniture, a wooden beam running across the ceiling and an ornate fireplace, the lounge/diner is a homely and welcoming space. Snuggle on the corner sofa to watch TV, patio doors thrown open in warm weather, or curl up on the outdoor sofa with your current read while your pup potters in the garden. The modern, country-style kitchen has everything you need to rustle up delicious meals, then dine inside or out with a dining table in the lounge and outdoor table on the patio. Two tastefully presented bedrooms – a king-size with doors to the patio and a double – invite a restful night’s sleep, and a family bathroom allows everyone to refresh with ease.

Foodies are spoilt for choice in Kirkby Lonsdale with a weekly market and an abundance of delis and eateries scattered around the town’s cobbled streets and squares. Let Fido lead the way to the 13th century Devil’s Bridge, and head out of town to explore the surrounding fells, dales, rivers and woodlands. The market town of Kendal, gateway to the Lake District is just 14 miles away, with the picturesque shores of Lake Windermere just 10 miles beyond.

Have stayed at Pear Tree Cottage a few times now and it never disappoints. It's a very well quipped and comfortable cottage in a quiet location, yet only a minute or two's walk from all the facilities that Kirkby Lonsdale has to offer. Great pubs and great eating out. Highly recommended.

Characterful bungalow in lovely quiet setting but within the body of the village. Great location, especially with parking available. Hope the whole premises can be brought up to the recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom standard. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

This cottages in a fabulous location. Yes its small but perfect for a couple and a dog. It was very well equipped and beautifully appointed. Previous guests have commented on the difficulty in parking however, with a pretty large car, we didnt really have a problem. Also, Alnmouth is a fantastic place, well worth a visit

On the outside a lovely quaint little cottage, but that all ends when you get inside. The cottage is a lot smaller than it looks, and feels like you've entered a time warp, of being stuck in the 50's, it is full of the owners trinkets, mis-matched furniture etc, it wasn't overly clean, found many dirty dishes/glasses in the kitchen, beds were awfulRead more, the mattress was thin and so soft. It is in an ideal location for getting around, & town market is minutes away with some decent pubs & cafes. Hide
