The two-storey cottage features a spacious lounge/diner, versatile bedrooms and enclosed gardens to the front and rear. Known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, this village is the perfect base for families and groups of friends keen to explore this AONB’s cultural, historic and natural attractions.

The interior has a fresh and contemporary feel, with stylish and comfortable soft furnishings scattered over its hard and carpeted floors. After a long day’s walking or sightseeing, feel free to curl up with loved ones in the lounge/diner either side of guilt-free meals and ahead of film nights by the wood burner. Second helpings and refills are easily sourced in the nearby kitchen, which is also a handy base for the dog come bedtime. Their humans (you) only need to climb the stairs in the lounge to reach the cottage’s first-floor bathroom and two double bedrooms, one of which enjoys enviable countryside views. The attractive patio area at the front of the cottage is ideal for morning coffees, while the patio at the rear is a real suntrap perfect for dog naps and BBQs.

Bourton on the Water is, like so much of the Cotswolds, a walkers’ and cyclists paradise, with stunning paths and trails, including the Windrush Way, passing through the village. There are umpteen dog-friendly market towns, villages and country estates between Cheltenham and Woodstock (within 23 miles), the latter home to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.

Not suitable for the elderly or infirm as the bar of the fixed stair gate across the bottom step of the stairway is a trip hazard and therefore a safety issue. Guests must ensure to bring a torch, there is no emergency lighting or torch provided. Candles are prohibited. This was a problem when an hour long power cut was experienced.
