An exceptional, rural hideaway, this enticing getaway nestles in beautiful Cumbrian countryside. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom retreat enjoys a peaceful setting, 6 miles from Longtown and 5 miles from Brampton. It is in an ideal location for visiting Hadrian’s Wall (Banks East Turret) and striking out along the footpath beside the historic landmark. Discover other picturesque places to walk, such as Gelt Woods, 11 miles away, and Talkin Tarn Country Park, 10 miles away, where you can also take to the water on your own canoe or paddle board. Head into Brampton or venture into bustling Carlisle, 8 miles away, to shop or dine out. Travel 8 miles to Gretna Green, into Scotland, with its shops, eateries and marriage-themed activities. Pack a picnic and drive 15 miles to the fringes of the North Pennines or 21 miles to the scenic Lake District.

Step inside this luxurious, charm-laden cottage. From the entrance hall, where you will find the convenient ground-floor WC and laundry area, head on through to discover high-quality accommodation that blends original and contemporary features beautifully. Emerge in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where rustic, exposed stone and timberwork add a sense of history and warmth. Take a seat on the sumptuous sofa to flick through the channels on the Smart TV. Stoke up the wood burner in here on autumn and winter evenings or open the patio doors to the garden in the warmer months. The generous kitchen/diner area also has an elegant country appeal. Here you can prepare the fresh Cumbrian produce you have bought in town, then sit down to dine in style. When you are ready to close your eyes for the night, make your way up to the first floor of the cottage, where you will find your impressive bedrooms, both with chic en-suite shower rooms, plenty of storage, and Smart TVs. There is a king-size and a super-king-size room to choose from, each with a beautiful view. The super-king-size has a bed that can also be made up as a twin by prior agreement, plus a freestanding bath for long, bubble baths.

Relax together out in the sunny courtyard garden, lounge in the hot tub or dine under blue skies and take in the far-reaching views. Bring a four-legged friend and let them wander about to their heart’s content. Unwind on the comfy communal seating area by the pond, a true haven for relaxation. This cottage has parking for two cars.

It was an amazing week, made even better with small details like scones on arrival, logs ready for the log burner, and having a Highland calf born during our stay. So comfortable, well stocked & to a high standard. We definitely recommend a stay, so good you don't want to leave!

The directions from the M6 to the house were really good. When you arrive at the beginning of the driveway it feels really special. There is plenty of parking. The cottage courtyard with hot tub is gorgeous with fantastic views across open fields. It was really lovely to have a welcome basket with scones, jam, butter, brownies, milk, orange juice, fresh eggs, tea and coffee. What else can you ask for. The landing is gorgeous with little portholes. The bedrooms (the super king bed was really comfortable, the pillows and bedding luxurious) the bath is amazing plus the en-suites are fantastic. stunning views from the bedroom. A luxury cottage in a secluded location with easy access for Hadrian's Wall and the Lakes. Cottage is well thought out and furnished, with super bedrooms and bathrooms and nice finishing touches. Very friendly and welcoming owners.

We had a relaxing stay at this beautiful cottage - fully equipped with everything you could need. Mandy was fantastic leaving a delicious hamper full of local goodies and even fresh eggs for us during our stay. It was lovely having a dip in the hot tub after being out exploring the area with our dogs in the day, robes and slippers were a treat and Read moreeven the toiletries smelt like a spa. The beds were large and comfy and the big bath tub was a bonus too. Smart TVs upstairs and down allowed us to unwind in the evening watching films and shows, and we made good use of the wood burner too which heated the downstairs up a treat. Thank you for having us! What an incredible stay we had at Skye Cottage! The cottage was immaculate, with beautiful cosy decor and luxurious bedding. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could think of needing & a gorgeous welcome hamper with lots of local goodies! We loved soaking in the hot tub, the bath in the bedroom & relaxing by the fire in the evening!Read more The showers were gorgeous too & with the added luxury of locally sourced shower products it felt like being at a spa! So many thoughtful touches that made the stay even more special! Mandy & Jed were really lovely & welcoming & went the extra mile helping us get set up with a cot & bedding for baby & a high chair to save us bringing these along. We spent a wonderful week at Skye Cottage. The accomodation was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed, with some really thoughtful touches. Probably the best holiday let Ive stayed in. Absolutely immaculate. Fabulously equipped and friendly host. The beds are lovely and comfy, fluffy towels and super- thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper, robes and slippers and separate towels for the hot tub. We will definitely be back to this lovely cottage.

Sky Cottage is a beautiful, cosy place to stay. It was spotless, and has clearly been lovingly renovated. We were extremely impressed, and didn't want to leave at the end of our stay! The appliances etc. are all very high quality.
