Escape to the Yorkshire countryside with friends or family – and, of course, your four-legged companions – at this charming stone cottage in the peaceful village of Fearby. With an enclosed garden and surrounded by rolling green landscapes, it’s a wonderful base for those travelling with a curious canine who loves the great outdoors.
Step through the porch, kick off boots, wipe down muddy paws, and you’ll find yourself in a cosy lounge brimming with character. Comfortable seating and a wood burner create a warm, homely setting after long rural walks. The kitchen/diner provides everything needed to prepare hearty meals, with views out across the garden and surrounding fields adding to the rural charm. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath is also located on the ground floor. Upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await – a double and a king-size, the latter complete with its own en-suite shower room – providing a restful place to settle in after a day of exploring. Outside, the front garden has a small south-facing lawn with a bench – just the spot for a morning coffee. To the rear, a fully enclosed patio creates a safe area where your pup can safely roam while you take in the afternoon and evening sunshine. Beyond lies open countryside and farmland, adding to the sense of seclusion. Off-road parking for one car is available directly outside the cottage.
One hundred metres away, you’ll find a welcoming, pet-friendly pub, while the attractive market town of Masham (2 miles) has a selection of shops, cafes and eateries. From the doorstep, you and your faithful hound can set out to explore the breathtaking Nidderdale National Landscape, or visit the intriguing The Druids Temple, a quirky stone monument inspired by Stonehenge. A little further afield, tail-wagging days out await at Aysgarth Falls and West Burton (20 miles). Alternatively, head to Leyburn (12.5 miles) or Hawes (28 miles) – famous for its Wensleydale Creamery that welcomes dogs into its cafe garden.
