Located alongside a babbling river in a picturesque village location, this sweet dog-friendly retreat is a beautiful bolthole for two plus doggos. Set in the most spectacular mature garden within the grounds of the owner’s own home, this gated cottage feels very private with lush lawn and established planting surrounding the generous plot. The coastal village of Llwyngwril sits within Snowdonia National Park and is the ideal location for a holiday of two halves; embark on outdoor adventures in easy reach with your beloved hounds and retire to the tranquil setting of this delightful garden cottage for cosy evenings by the fire. Alternatively, venture further afield using the nearby Cambrian Railway line.

Inside the single-storey property you’ll find a small lobby area with storage space for coasts and shoes that leads onto the shower room. Off this handy lobby area is the modern kitchen/dining space, kitted out with all you need for a well-catered stay and a comfortable lounge. Open-plan the cottage has been thoughtfully designed to make the best of the cosy space. On cooler evenings, light the wood burner and cwtch up with your canine companions in front of the fire or on a balmy summer evening, open up the French doors and bring the outside in. The patio and lawn, encircled by mature trees and shrubs is a sublime spot for enjoying dining al fresco or throw the dog a bone and enjoy a quick cuppa with the meditative sounds of the flowing river nearby. Retire to the king-size bedroom for a restful night’s sleep.

Nearby, there is plenty of scope to unleash adventures in the big outdoors; head to Coed-Y-Brenin (14 miles) for walkies and cycle tracks to explore. The local coastline also offers plenty of dog-friendly options; rove with Rover along the pebbles of Llwyngwril beache or dig for treasure at Fairbourne Beach (3 miles) where dogs are welcome on a god stretch of sand either side of the central area. If you’re looking for a more restful activity, enjoy a picnic along the banks of the River Gwril to the sound of birdsong.

We have just come back from an amazing stay. The cozy cottage was equipped with everything we could need, and Cath provided a lovely welcome pack for our arrival. The garden was enormous, which our dogs enjoyed exploring. Cath was on hand for any issues. The bed was so comfortable, and we could hear the pretty river just outside.
