Watch your cheerful chum’s tail wag without stopping when he sees the lawned garden at this gem of a holiday home at the heart of Appledore. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom retreat makes a splendid base for an extended family break or dog-friendly, Devon celebration with friends. Just 350 metres from the River Torridge and South West Coast Path, it is also in an exceptional location for dog walks.
Follow your happy hound from the hall into the lounge where he can stretch out on the rug, while you relax on the comfortable seating with the Smart TV on. There is also a snug, with another TV and piano, where you and he can unwind. Take a few steps up from here to feed your hungry hound and whip up a feast for your human companions in the kitchen/diner. Make a cup of fresh coffee in the machine and open the doors on to the patio so you and your chum can step outside on summer days. There is a WC downstairs. Settle him for the night at ground-floor level then make your way up to the first floor, where there is a double bedroom, a king-size, with en-suite shower room, and a family bathroom. Wander on up to the floor above to a super-king-size and en-suite shower room, and a twin that can be made up as a king-size by prior agreement. Spend warm evenings out in the garden, playing games, using the fitness equipment or sitting in the studio while your contented canine mills about.
Venture 1.5 miles to the beach at Greysands, where pups can play freely. This becomes Westward Ho! Beach, which also has dog-friendly sections. Take your pal to stretch his legs in Northam Burrows Country Park, 1 mile from the cottage.
