This picture-postcard thatched property is set in an idyllic spot, surrounded by open countryside. The cottage sleeps six guests and two dogs and is perfect for a chilled-out holiday exploring Dorset with your favourite four-legged pals. Head to the Jurassic Coast, 3.5 miles away, to marvel at the beauty of Britain’s only natural World Heritage Site or spend a lazy afternoon pottering around the quaint markets in nearby Bridport.

The characterful cottage, with rambling creepers adorning the outside walls, is everything you’d hope for in a traditional Dorset home, with added contemporary touches for a comfortable stay. Kick off your dog-walking boots in the spacious entrance hall, before entering the beautiful lounge which is full of traditional features. On chillier evenings, light the wood burner and snuggle up whilst your furry friends stretch out in front of the fireplace. During the day, the furballs will be in their element sniffing around the pretty lawned garden, whilst you pour yourself a glass of wine on the terrace or sink into the relaxing hot tub. Alternatively, challenge each other to a table tennis match in the games room - a fun way to while away a few hours.

You’ll find something for everyone at the picturesque town of Bridport (3 miles). Head over on market day (Wednesday and Saturday) to grab yourself some fantastic local produce and immerse yourself in the adorable Dorset culture. Afterwards, potter around the harbour with the pups and enjoy fish and chips on a bench whilst watching the colourful boats bobbing up and down. Eype Beach, just 3.5 miles away, is perfect woof walking territory. Tucked away under the towering peak of Golden Cap, it’s a magical spot, particularly at sunset. What’s more, dogs are welcome all year and the kids will love hunting for fossils.

It was so easy to relax in this delightful cottage, either in the comfortable sitting room or outside in the beautiful garden. Not forgetting the hot tub. Plenty of room in the enclosed garden for our dog to stretch his legs too. We look forward to a return visit.

The cottage was brilliant for all 6 of us, spacious with comfy beds and all fixtures and fittings you could need. A lovely big garden to play games, as well as the table tennis room with many an hour playing all rooms and amenities were very clean and plenty of room for us all.

Lovely big cottage with great garden area. Everything was clean and comfortable and the welcome hamper was unexpected and much appreciated. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and great walks not far from the door.

The thatched cottage is beautiful. 3 big double bedrooms, and a lovely big kitchen and lounge Stunning views outside especially from the hot tub. Only possible downside might be if the weather spoils it - especially if a cold wind is blowing across the hills

Cottage is fairly close to Bridport and 2 nice bays, west bay and burton bradstock. Very rural location and road is narrow in places. House is suitable for 3 couples, with plenty of space for all.

The cottage was very comfortable and well furnished. Highlights were the hot tub and Table Tennis. Enjoyed by both children and grown ups. Phone signal and WiFi extremely poor.

We had a nice week here at the Thatch cottage. We were so lucky with the weather as it was warm and sunny. The garden is a dream - absolutely loved the outdoor space and to have lots of places to sit and relax. We visited nearby places (the beach at West Bay, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Forde Abbey). Fab food at The Hive Beach Cafe and the SymoRead morendsbury Cafe. As small negatives, the wifi is very slow, the beds weren't as comfortable as we were hoping and the lane was busier than expected.
