Visitors on two and four legs will adore a relaxing stay at this rural property. With its traditional stone exterior and contemporary home from home interior, it makes a great base for exploring the surrounding Cornish countryside and, naturally, its famous coastline. Whether it’s a couple’s walking break – Bodmin Moor is 17 miles – or a sightseeing holiday for a small family, this flexible cottage has everything you’ll need.
The interiors of this converted barn feel light and airy, with neutral decor embellished with nautical colourways. Entering the open-plan lounge/diner, the modern and stylish furnishings ensure great comfort, with room for all guests (human and hound) to find some space or quiet time. The comfortable bedrooms are upstairs and offer flexible accommodation. Outside, holidaymakers have their own picnic bench in the shared courtyard to the front of the cottage. Guests are welcome to explore the farmland, which includes a stunning 4-acre rewilding field that’s alive with nature and birdlife. It’s perfect for taking a break and just listening to the sounds of the countryside…
There’s plenty to explore on the farm itself, noting that four-legged chums should be on a lead at all times. The A30 is 1 mile from the house, facilitating easy travel to tick some of Cornwall’s big sights off your list. All things horticultural await you at the impressive Eden Project (18 miles); there’s interest here all year and the biospheres mean cold weather isn’t a problem. Nearer, smaller but no less wonderful is the Lost Gardens of Heligan (11 miles), restored in the 1990s. If Cornwall makes you think more of beaches, then take your pick: Newquay offers sand and surf (7.5 miles), while Perranporth, Hayle and Porthtowan are all within 25 miles. If urban life calls, then Truro is Cornwall’s cathedral city (11 miles).
