This beautifully converted barn on Dartmoor is an idyllic location for a relaxing trip with your partner and pet – or a solo trip where you can spend some alone time accompanied by your faithful companion. It’s located in Yelverton, a lovely Devon village with local shops, cafes and dog-friendly pubs and restaurants all within 0.5 miles. The property has a lovely rustic aesthetic and a super cosy interior, so you feel right at home. And when it’s time to explore, you’ll have an abundance of tail-waggingly good walking trails beginning from your front door.

Enter the single-level ground-floor property and take a moment to admire the lovely exposed stone walls and wooden ceiling beams, then pop the kettle on for a welcoming cuppa in the cosy kitchen/lounge. As you sip, your pet can nestle at your feet while you unwind on the large sofa or armchair. There’s also a TV and DVD player for some easy evening entertainment. The small but perfectly formed kitchen has everything for meal prep. A super-king-size bedroom with en-suite rainfall shower completes the attractive interior. While the secluded garden outside is not available for dogs, it provides a peaceful spot for listening to the birds and enjoying the fresh air.  The good news is that there are great places nearby where they can be walked: a lane directly opposite the property and another lane behind us that leads to a field.

Locally, you can make a beeline for Burrator Reservoir (3 miles) and explore granite outcrops (known as tors) and open moorland as your pet trots on happily ahead. Take your four-legged pal for runs in Dittisham Wood (3 miles) or head to Tavistock, a historical market town and UNESCO World Heritage Site for its mining history (5 miles). At Plymouth (10 miles) you can enjoy an urban day out by the sea.

  • 1 bedroom – super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request)
  • 1 en-suite shower room and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, air fryer and fridge freezer
  • Welcome pack
  • Smart TV and DVD player in the lounge
  • Off-road parking for 1 car
  • Storage for bikes
  • Please note the property is not suitable for wheelchairs, due to the size of the property and access, please ask if you have any further questions.
  • Pub and shop within 0.5 miles, beach 10 miles
  • Sleeps 2
  • Unfortunately,  dogs aren’t permitted in the garden. The good news is that there are great places nearby where they can be walked: a lane directly opposite the property and another lane behind us that leads to a field.
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 2 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Clean, comfy, warm apt. Well equipped kitchen. Some supplies provided. Superking bed, quality bedding, lovely towels. SmartTV. Pub is a 10min walk up the road. Vgood food. Feels claustrophoRead morebic as you cant escape it. Thought about going home early. Luckily had two days of no one upstairs. So be warned if you dont like intrusive noise. Hide

Very cozy and comfortable property. Walking distance of the village centre with its pub and shops. A good base for exploring Dartmoor and South Hams.

What a lovely place to stay. Comfy bed, and a soft sofa. reliable central heating and plenty of hot water. The kitchen was equipped with every thing that we needed, even a vase for some flowers. I hoped that we left The Threshing Barn clean, maybe a long handled brush to sweep up after our dogs would of been helpful. We felt that we were well situaRead moreted to be able to explore parts of the moor that we haven't visited before. It was very pleasant. best wishes Andy and Mandy Hide

A lovely place for two to stay, we took our two dogs also. The Threshing Barn had everything we needed and more. A lovely bottle of wine was there for us on arrival, a lovely touch. A very comfy, super king bed, had a great night's sleep.

Small but perfectly formed. The Threshing Barn is a lovely property. Very comfortable bed, sitting room & a well-equipped kitchen area. The welcome from Linda (and Dylan the dog!) was very friendly and the whole space was inviting. It is compact but perfect for me & my dog Rory. The property has its own parking space & is extremely well-located, beRead moreing very close to the Yelverton roundabout which grants access to all major Dartmoor roads. I would not hesitate to book this property again. Hide

I sadly will not recommend this property as some of the things not to our like ( noise upstairs, back of property working shed with noise, front need some cleaning and safety issues with dangerous grill .

The accommodation is quite small but entirely adequate for a holiday for 2. It is very comfortable, rustic and the owners are on hand for any issues.

Linda & Aidan were great hosts. The barn conversion was well done with a well appointed kitchen including some of the cooking essentials like oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper etc. There were unexpected items like a slow cooker even though we took our own. A nice bottle of Chianti and some apples were waiting upon our arrival.

Accommodation is bigger than it looks on the photos, comfortable, quiet, well equipped. We only stayed for three nights but would not hesitate on returning. Host friendly, all in all, an excellent place to stay.

A lovely, cosy little escape with great amenities and very comfortable. Yelverton is perfectly located too, 20 minutes from Plymouth but close to everything in Dartmoor. The hosts are very hospitable and always around to help.
